Icelandic Volcano

So far most people have taken it all in stride - they understand that it is circumstances beyond anyone's control. I think it is just frustrating because there is no way to know when they will be able to start flying again - could be tomorrow (doubtful), could be Monday, may not be until Friday or later...no one can tell right now.

Lol, my fiance would kill me... I told her I was going to get some Madagascar hissing roaches and she freaked... "snakes are fine... bugs are not!" was her words....lol. I will change her mind one day though...lol

I have never seen an actual Huntsman spider, except in pictures.
I have heard that they are a leading cause of car accidents in Australia, due to their habit of dropping into a drivers lap from behind the sun visor.

They freak me out badly!

I have had a Madagascar hissing cockroach as a pet though. He was pretty cool. I had him for nearly 3 years. He got so tame that he stopped hissing when I handled him.

I have rellies out in Aus who claim that Huntsmen cause more deaths than Redbacks, because of that habit. Apparently another favourite tactic is for them to suddenly appear on your shoulder. It'd sure make me crash!

Are Huntsmen the really big spiders? My husband is from Australia, and we lived there for 2 years, and the bugs are all HUGE. A few times spiders as big as my hand would be roaming around in the house... so gross. There were also red and yellow spiders that made webs in the trees.. I was always afraid of walking into one by mistake. :(

I do love Australia otherwise though, I just hate bugs!! XD

AHHH That's it Wade! I still don't know how they would get in the house, but they never failed to thoroughly creep me out. Uhg!!

The Huntsman we get here is a little smaller than the Australian version, but they still get as big as your hand....

I see they broke out the huge marshmallows... how big are the sticks?
