I would think that the reason he has a fat belly is because he has just ate and there is a lump from the mouse.
I think we would all like to see some pics. Rats/mice don't usually take up that much space in a freezer, let alone pinks. I ordered 40 rat pups from rodentpro, and they barely take up any space at all!! Oh, and if you are going to start ordering, I recommend Rodent Pro.

I'm definitely going to start ordering my mice online. Pinkies are $1.25 a pop at Petco, $3.40 for 3 of them. RIDICULOUS. I was just worried that my freezer wouldn't keep them as frozen as they need to be, as it's a mini fridge with a little ice box up top, not really a conventional freezer. It seems to have kept my roommate's ice-pops pretty frozen though so I think I'm in the clear.

Im not sure if you already said this, but how old is your snake? because if over 1 year, I recommend going to rat fuzzies or pinkies, depending on the size at that time.
