Interesting day at the office!

Joe I agree with you~
those 'Sunset" lavenders do look quite different from the regular lavenders that we see.

and from all those photos that you have posted I surely agree with you~~

they really do not look like the regular lavs that we usualy see. Plus with all these hypo genes that we're getting now nothing much is impossible....maybe there is a gene that is making this 'dilute' affect. If so then it would be great if it would work on other morphs~~
I would love to get the 'dilute gene' into caramel, amber, and butterlines~ and ghosts, silver queens, and bloodreds...(ah~~ going nuts now~~)

Striped Hurricane Snow Motley X Sunkissed Okeetee

I finially decided what to breed my lonely Sunkised Okeetee female to. This should result in Hets for anery a, amel, motley and Sunkissed hypo. The target morphs will be Sunkissed Ghost, and Motley Sunkissed Ghosts. I guess we could throw in Amel Sunkissed and Amel Motley Sunkisseds as well. This male snow Motley is partially striped and hurricane, so we could place those descriptive terms in front of any of the above.

It is too bad that this photo came out so dark. The rest were worse. This female Sunkissed Okeetee that came from Kathy Love is absolutely beautiful! She is two different shades of pumpkin orange with the nice hypo opaque black around the blotches. She just keeps getting better and better with age.

Sunkissed Okeetee

I had to get a better picture of Kathy Loves Sunkissed Okeetee that I have. She is such a pretty snake. A few manual adjustments did help.

Amel Blood Okeetee X Amel Okeetee

I picked up a few Blood adults last year so I could start working them into my other morphs. This Amel Blood is out of the line of Amel Bloods that came from Amel Okeetees. He has the Blood pattern, but is much too orange. Hopefully, this Amel Okeetee female will put some more red into the offspring.

"Fire" Amel X Amel

I wish this "Fire"Amel was a female so I could breed him into the Blood line. Hopefully, I can get some more like him from this breeding to his grandmother. The female in the previous photo is this males sibling. He is the only one that came out this very dark saturated red color.

good luck with these pairings~

I like the sunkissed pair. The sunkissed looks really nice~~

Also the Sunkissed ghost motley project is definately going to be something quite remarkable~~

Hope to see some egg pics soon~~

Original Lava Okeetee X Okeetee het Lava

This old guy still has what it takes. He has some of the "Waxy" look that Serp describes. It is kind of purplish, where the black should be on the normal phase.

My what a BIG one

I decided to use the original Male Lava Okeetee on all of my hets this year to see if I can get some more of the darker Lava Okeetees. He had the last two years off and was VERY ready to meet the girls this year.

His selectively bred sons, which are very bright orange, will produce the other end of the spectrum.

Coral Snow X Ghost het snow

I was very surprised to get a couple of snows out of a Ghost X Ghost breeding a couple of years ago. I never heard of a Coral Snow at that time, but saved them so I would have more options when breeding the males. I learned later that the Hypo Snows were being called Coral Snows. They are very nice! Hard to photograph, but nice. This is the same Ghost female that you may have seen in the comparison photo with an Ice Ghost female.

This little guy has been busy!

Talk about hard to photograph. This is a Striped Lav X Striped Opal breeding, but you can't tell it from the photo. She is more on the side of a Striped Pearl Opal, than the pinker type of opals.

This little guy has five girls gravid and working on his sixth.

Het Lava lav X Het Lava lav

I posted these else where, but thought I would put them here too. I am more excited about getting a Lava lav than the Striped Lavenders. Something new, I guess.

"Ice Lavenders"?

I still like "Ice" Lavenders for Lava lavs, but will have to see what they look like first. I might have to wait a year or so to see what the adults will look like, if I get any at all. This is a good start.

I am hoping that they are more colorful than the Cotton Candy Lavenders. (CC Lav) AKA Hypo Lavenders. Perhaps more pink and purple and any other colors would be very welcome!

This is nice to see

You can't always see the hook up without disturbing them to much. I got a lucky angle with this mating.

Lava Okeetee X Kathy Love Okeetee

This should be a nice outcross. It would be nice to see wide purple around the orange blotches on the Lava phase.

Lava Corn X Anery A poss het Lava

I didn't get all of my poss hets proven out last year, so this year I hope to get all of them proven one way or another.

I had this Lava Male in the "For Sale" pile for a long time and never used him as a breeder before. He turned out real nice and I am glad I never sold him. He is really taking advantage of his first breeding season.

I really like the Anery A's from this line as well. Some have a frosted look and they are very black and silvery gray. I don't see how all that black could be hiding under the red from the wild Okeetee line they came from. It does seem like the anery a gene does more than just remove the red. It seems to change the red into black as well. Maybe not, but it sure seems that way.

Close up of the above mating

I almost caught the "Hook" up, but he lowered his tail at the last second. The photo is a little blurry, but you can see how the Lava Hypo gene basically removes all of the black like the amel gene does, but instead of leaving white like the amel gene does, it leaves an opaque purplish color.

Hypo Lav X ?Lav?

HYpo Lav X ?Lav? something. She is supose to be a hypo Lav, but I suspect she is a Lav het hypo. She has some Motley characteristics. I hope Rich really screwed up and sent me a Lav Motley.

Motley Lav?

The front half of her body looks like a Hurricane Motley with the striping on the sides and everything. The last half of her body looks normal. I hate these Motley maybes! Her belly is just as mixed up. She has a Zig-Zag wide white belly pattern all the way down, with purple on the edges with no checkering at all.

Is she Motley or not?
