is my albino corn's tank good

i am sorry about my attitude i just get frustrated when 15 people tell me the same thing
i know that these dial ones work because i asked the pet store worker if he could show me if they work and he compared it with a digital and they were exactly the same temps

I told you the reason everyone keeps telling you the same thing is because it is important that you read the temps as accurately as possible. If everyone is telling you the same thing don't you get the hint that that is the best way? Why bother asking for help if you don't care what we have to say. If you keep acting like that no one will want to bother trying to help you because you apparently know it all and don't want our help. If you honestly can't spend $6 on a thermometer then you probably shouldn't have an animal in the first place.

Sadly I know that the dial ones *don't* work. I'm sorry I keep saying the same thing, but I've honestly seen one be so badly wrong that my nephew's Corn stopped eating where it had been too cold for so long.

And as the dial types have a face calibrated in 1 degree intervals that you read from and digital thermometers work to 0.1 of a degree on their readouts, I'm afraid there's no way the two could have been "exactly" the same when demonstrated in the shop.

I wouldn't trust a pet store worker to know everything. Most people here are speaking from experience. We actually use both a digital thermometer and an inferred thermometer

I used to do that also till my temp gun died I have to get a new one this weekend. It just help to check and make sure the digital thermometers are working.

Also I am a pet store employee and have been for 3 years and I have to say the majority of petstore employees especially big chain stores like petsmart/petco do not know to much about reptiles or the products they sell. I have a lot of reptiles and have tried most of the products we sell at my store and I know what works and what doesn't, so from personal experience and experience of customers that have had issues and from others on here it's best to use the probe thermometers.

hello i am new and this is my first thread. in febuary i got a new albino corn and i am scared that im not doing something right so can you please rate my snakes tank 1-10 1 being bad and 10 being perfect if there is anything i should do please tell me my corn's name is vee for the V shape on his head he is 9-10 months old and about 20 inches long he is a good eater he has eaten every meal i give him and he never regurges he shed 4 times since i got him and the last time was yesterday the temperatures are always good but im not sure if he will be happy in there
i will post pics soon

I'll approach this a little different, without pics how can we rate your viv? What kind of bedding are you using? How many hides do you have? Size of water bowl, where is the bowl in conjunction with the light? What size is the viv? How much does your snake weight, what size mice are you feeding?

My husband works for a mom and pop pet store, he loves it. But yes most employee's at big chains don't know much. We do have several members that work at them and do know but they are rare.

We also have leopard geckos, gargoyle geckos and bearded dragons which require different things as well. They each have a digital thermometer.

i post tommorow
i use aspen, he has 2 hides, he has a good size water bowl that is in the shade, i dont know how much he weighs, his viv is 24" by 12" by 18", and we feed him fuzzies, he is also about 20" long and 9 months old

Well that OK but it sounds like you need to work on the "other stuff".

Can't wait to see the pictures tomorrow.

Good luck.

Good to hear. When you put the probe for the thermometer in the tank, you can attach it to the bottom using superglue or hot glue, that way it doesn't move around and give you wrong readings.
