Your female may or may not be pregnant. Copulation does not ensure fertilization. If she is then you can expect her to shed soon and when she does you give her a lay box and she will lay eggs in that box within 6-to days by normal standards. She may also start denying food and becoming more distended and growing in the rear third of her body. Hope this helps. They are just the basic concepts ..but a start for you.

Take care

Reptilemt,
Chances are, if you witnessed copulation you will get eggs. She could be restless and searching for an appropriate place to lay her eggs. If haven't already, place a rubbermaid or sterilite container with damp spagnum moss in it in her enclosure. Cut a hole in the lid for an entrance. If she is gravid, her belly will start feeling "pudgy," and look rounder than normal....like someone filled it with pudding.

Good luck,

i put vermiculite in a plastic dish but she continues to stay on the dry end under her box is it because of the vermiculite? she already shedded then i put him in with her until i fed them a wk later then i put him back in his cage now she's on the dry end not even near her moist hide. i'm sure she's gravid she's fat and i can feel lumps in her . they have been together 90% of the last 2 months. she laid eggs last yr. so i know both are capable. gail

Suthernsnail,
Maybe it's just me, but my females don't seem to like the damp vermiculite as much as moss. I think it's because the vermiculite pebbles stick to their body. I remember a couple of years ago I tried using vermiculite in one females nest box and she ended up scattering the eggs on the newspaper outside of the nest box.

Good luck,

chris,i took the vermiculite out and put the moss in and she won't leave the moist hide now lol i guess you were right thanks. gail
