Is there is a chance for her?

How can she eat if she is just able to lift her head? Eating takes a lot of efforts muscle wise... I think it ewas just a lack of energy before. Great she is eating though! I'm suprised, since if they nearly lift their heads they usually are too far gone to show any interest in food. What size of prey did she eat?

actually its quite difficult to me to explain how difficult her movement it is.its like the skin/scale didnt attach to the flesh and body..when i got her,if she force to move, sometimes the body will role..last week i give two small mice..she look hungry, follow the mice, but didnt strike it..and i think she cannot strike it at all..so i assist feed, put the mice in the mouth, and push little bit, then she took it from there..from the way she eat,we know that she doesnt has any energy, its quite slow for her to swallow the mice..

today i give slightly bigger mice than before..and i just gave her last injection of multivitamin tonight..so after two days later, next stage,antibiotic..

I Really think the antibiotics are going to help her, fighting the infections! Personally I would have doubted to wait with antibiotics, knowing how fast things can go with infections. My vet has given pretty weak animals antibiotics as first treatment to begin with... anyway, this seems to work so far and I hope the real recovery will take of fas now!

I'm glad she was able to eat. That is a good sign!
It is lucky that you got her and that you are taking good care of her!

She gives one shot of antibio and then I'll give oral antibio for a week or 10 days after. Sometimes she does not give a shot but I'll just start the oral antibio the same day, that's more for preventive use after certain treatments. She has never given vitamin shots to diseased snakes. I don't know why but she might have told me it does not work, not sure about that. (She is highly specialized in reptile medicine) They mostly need energy from food if possible, or they'll use their body mass. Ill snakes get skinny very fast.

I hope she'll continue to eat when on antibiotics, it might decrease appetite during use. It will also influence the digestion, because it reduces the amount of good bacteria also. Be aware to feed smaller first times after she has received antibiotics.

I know what you mean, they get very dear to you after an intense period of fighting a disease.

I am glad to see that your snake has been able to take down food which shows your snake has the will to keep going. It is always sad to see a sick snake just give up and stop eating until the time comes. I have never had this bad of a case but once I had a snake that developed a spot behind the head that looked like a small hole and the skin was rotting away. I completely dis-infected the tank and changed substrate to paper towls. Also I put in a smaller water bole and added more ventilation to lower the humidity. The wound itself I treated with alcohol first on a Q-tip then some medical grade anti-fungal/bacterial cream. That was done every 3 - 4 days. After 2 sheds all was better. About 2 months.

noted.thanks for your advice..i think my vet also never experience this..because here snake rarely get sick, tropical environment give them perfect condition to live..only animal that prefer 'dry' environment get more attention by him and also keeper here, such as chameleon, bearded, tortoise etc..they need UVB light, basking light and many..but snake, only clean cage, hide and waterbowl..no need any heater because here hot and humid enough for snake through out the year..so when i bring her to him,he shock and ask me how this snake can be like this?how irresponsible person am i?but after explained,he cool down..fuhhh..maybe the next visit we will discuss more detail about the treatment.

ah,i guess i should feed her m
I am wishing you luck!
Let us know how she is doing.
thanks..last night i feed her, today when soaking, she defecated..maybe from last week meal, but im really happy because the feces now look more normal than before..maybe digestive system start to working back..
thanks again..

good to hear that..thanks for sharing knowledge with me..em,how its look like before they have that hole?do they swollen?
i should write all of this in my snake note book..it might be useful for the future..

If I were a vet, I would be shocked.
I would yell at the person who did this.

It is good that her feces is looking more normal. Hopefully that is a good sign!

I commend you on taking in this sick snake and doing everything you can for her. I also wish you and her the best . I hope she will have very speedy recovery and will turn out to be a very nice docile snake when all is said and done.

A suggestion:
Peat and Shagnum moss have antibacterial properties.
I realize that scale rot seems to be associated with wetness, but damp moss may actually be a wise addition to your enclosure.
I recommend adding a humid container filled with sphagnum moss (or peat) that the snake can choose to enter if it wishes. Make sure the humidity doea not affect the rest of the enclosure. Ensure that the entire enclosure is very well ventilated allowing air movement. Cut only a small entry hole and keep the container covered to retain its moisture.

Just coming back from vet visit..vet said that he can see a lot of improvement with her..he seems really happy to see this fella making cute face, showing her tongue frequently and crawling on his surgery table..he said even the color of the snake also change a little bit,and im just notice that now(because i see her everyday)..btw,he still giving the antibiotic and also multivitamin, but for multivitamin,he lower the quantity..actually,im happy with it..:crazy02:

What a great report!!! And as already said you are obviously doing a fabulous job of taking care of her for that kind of improvement. :spinner: Here's hoping it continues.

Great to hear! I thought antibiotics would give her a boost :)

Flicking tongue is always a good sign indeed, if they hardly flick it anymore, it's a very bad sign.

What do you mean with her making a cute face?

Don't all snakes have cute faces? Especially when flickering their toungs.

Great to hear about you snake. I am sure in you care things will be all ok.

Some have mean faces, seen from the side but they always look cute frontally seen indeed :)
hahahhaha..at the previous visit, she keep running away from seeing people, going to hide under newspaper and cannot be touch..if we touch her body,it seems that it really painful to her..when i want to show her belly to the vet,she keep struggling..but last night, just after i open the lid,she come out with the flickering tongue and look at us all..so from the front, she really has a cute face..hahahaa

btw guys,i wanna ask whether its necessary for me to help her remove the scale..because some scale already peel off from her including at the belly one..but still another layer of old scale below that.

and this morning(here already 7.57 now),i saw her eyes become clear..she only has blue eyes(shedding mode) since my friend got her..i mean since 3 month ago..now red already..sign of shed?
