Registration is FREE, so please register so you can participate instead of remaining a lurker....

Please be certain that the location field is correctly filled out when you register. All registrations that appear to be bogus will be rejected. Which means that if your location field does NOT match the actual location of your registration IP address, then your registration will be rejected.

Sorry about the strictness of this requirement, but it is necessary to block spammers and scammers at the door as much as possible.

I've caved in...

With small peach fuzzies, I use the 'flick' I flick the back of the head hard about 3 or 4 times in quick succession, holding the mouse in my left hand. It kills them straight away, but they twitch for a little while after (Only way to get Lil to convert from live pinks)
With bigger mice I find a very sharp blow to the back of the head to stun then breaking the neck with a set of forceps works for me. I read about someone having the tail de-glove or break off when they pulled on it so I haven't tried that method of cervical dislocation
I believe that was me that was talking about the tale de-gloving and breaking off. It is horrible. That is why I switched to the "pinch and roll." No more heeby-jeebies.

Thanks, lefty and diamondlil, for answering my questions. Idon't have an issue with killing the mice, as I am trying to supply food to me "real" pets, so I do what I must. However, I would like it to be as quick and as painless as possible for the critters involved. Both ideas sound like they will do the trick.

Hopefully, she will soon start taking f/t and I can just kill her meals with CO2 like all the others...
