I do understand that Corn snakes are rat snakes. However, as the person above me stated I am not interested in making any hybrids.(but I personally do not have a problem with hybrids as long as they are clearly labeled as such) Anyway....
I brought the snake back to the store with this thread printed out. The owner wasn't there but his son was. When I walked in he already knew what was up. He called his dad while I was there and said " The people are back with the rat." I could hear his father screaming on the other end and his son shook his head and said " It was only a matter of time before someone figured out you were selling your rat snake babies as Anery corns " and hung up. He was very nice and apologized and offered to take back the baby, and gave us a refund.
We decided to hang onto the Amel because it is beautiful and has such an awesome and quirky personality we couldn't let it go. And there is a slight chance it is female... no evidence ( I'm not an expert ) But I have a hunch... even if it isn't I don't care... iisssss pretteh!
My main reason for not wanting to keep the rat is I don't plan on proactively breeding anything for at least another year. At the moment I am just getting some cool pets with the possibility of breeding in the future. So I don't need an extra mouth to feed, no matter how pretty it is, if it doesn't fit into my future breeding plans....
Oh, and I am NEVER shopping at that pet store again!
