Let's talk weather

Susang, I would be happy to loan you some of our weather! My girls and I have been enjoying spring so much this year, and now I fear that season is over for us. It is swampy humid and swampy hot with swampy sized mosquitoes to go right along with it. My thought is if we mix my weather with yours, we can share the resulting moderate weather and then we can both be comfortable!

Mmm... I LOVE rain. People call me strange but I really really like nice warm rain (I do dislike it when it is about 40 degrees outside and raining with the wind blowing sideways).

I am glad someone else here enjoys rain as much as I do!

I am tired of weed eating and weed eating. I'm weed eating at work and I'm weed eating at home. And apparently I am weed eating in my dreams because I have woken myself up pulling the starter cord in my sleep. Then it rains and grows back :headbang:
 
Snowing off & on all day, today. We've been having really bad cold wind the whole past week with some gusts up to 60 mph. The other day I was telling my mom that it felt like the wind was coming directly off of a glacier & later she was watching the weather & they said that it is doing something unusual. Usually the jet stream (if that's what it's called) will fork around & thru Ca. before coming thru Idaho, but that instead it is coming straight thru Alaska! So it really is coming straight off a glacier!
 
I live in San Francisco, where the temperatures don't vary more than 10 degrees - no matter what time of year it is! In fact our summers are usually cool and foggy, especially in the neighborhood where I live (next to the ocean). Just about 365 days a year the forecast will read 50/60, with rain on & off during the winter-spring. Some people think it's too gloomy here, but as a redhead (sensitive to sun) it's heaven to me. ;)
 
Here's our forecast for the next few days... almost exactly as I described, LOL. :D

* Tonight: Some clouds. Low 48F. WNW winds at 15 to 25 mph, diminishing to 5 to 10 mph.
* Tomorrow: Mostly sunny skies. High 62F. Winds WNW at 10 to 20 mph.
* Tomorrow night: A few clouds. Low 49F. Winds W at 10 to 15 mph.
* Saturday: Intervals of clouds and sunshine. High 59F. Winds W at 10 to 20 mph.
* Sunday: Partly cloudy. Highs in the upper 50s and lows in the low 50s.
* Monday: Showers. Highs in the low 50s with temperatures nearly steady overnite.

With us it's raking leaves from our tree and every tree around. Plus those dang little cotton wood things.

We have a similar problem, and it is called mowing. It's just that we have so much yard that has to be mowed (about 4 acres worth give or take a bit) so even with a really nice and big riding mower, mowing still takes a considerable amount of our time. In the winter we do get a break from all the mowing because the grass grows much slower then, but even then the yard work is practically all consuming. We have lived on this property for over 7 years now, and we still haven't been able to get even a fraction of the brush cleared from the other 6 acres. Ideally when we finish (unless the yard wins LOL) all the little brush will be cleared out, but we will be leaving all the trees, so it will be wooded but not quite as swampy as it is now. And when I say swamp I really mean it. In the summer time there are places in my yard that require wading boots and a machete LOL! I am not complaining I actually adore living out here, its just much more of an adventure than I expected it to be.
