Levi the odd colored Lavender! progression thread!

Ahhh yes there i see the similarity... that picture eluded me... and that snakes also looks a little more faded... Im talking to the breeder of Levi she's going to send me updated pics as well so I can get better comparison.. So maybe he's an ultramel... I can't wait to see him grow up that is the best part... This will be a puzzle that will drive my brain wild for the next few years :p

Actually I'm thinking yours is just a lavender het moltey het amel OR ultra. He is not as faded as the ultramel lavender she has, and looks more like the updated pics she has of the lavenders. Looks like she got some nice babies from this clutch.

And it didn't even occur to me to look at the eyes, it's late and I'm not thinking clearly! Ultramel lavenders have almost albino-type eyes, and yours does not.

Oh Right! I was thinking about the eyes before... LOL God yeah Im confused... but yes... it's just the fact that he's faded even after shedding... she said hers cleared up but Im gonna get pictures so we can compare.. not that pics are helping a ton either.. it all depends on the camera too at times... and the lighting... Either way eh is super cute and I love his little even patterns and sweet temperament.. and yes she did.. she was not prepared for the female being het amel.. lol she's mating them again next season...

Yeah, he does have that dull-looking (not in a bad way) in shed look. Pretty neat!

Jereme, genetically he could be het ultra het amel (ultramel) because the dam was het amel and the sire was ultramel. But after looking at the clutchmates and eyes we determined he was not ultramel lavender.

lol Sorry for all of the confusion people, I am still so much learning and she got me a little confused cause she said he was odd looking compared to the others that was easy to type/categorize... I agree with the lavender call but even then he's not completely correct looking and what funny is that he has low markings on the side, but he is not motley nor stripe, he has belly checkers and for a lavender he has lots of pink, but he's not pink enough to be an opal and again he has the black eyes..

So he looks like he got the middle of it all... cause if you look at his side markings there's very little there and yet he;s not a motley...

LOL this is why he was cheap.... but yeah it's bed time for this monkey.. trust me Ill keep this thread updated a lot.. We should have some ongoing bet for this one..

lol and now I realize that that is a lavender trait low side markings.. /facepalm yeah Im a dummy... and this is why I have no intentions of breeding... I would mess it all up... lol

I see what you are saying, but like you had said the eyes are not right to be het for both so what meant was he is a lavender het one or the other. He looks a lot like the males I got from a plasma x orchid breeding i did this year.

Those are nice babies, I bet the orchids and blood orchids they make will be awesome.

He's pretty! The brother, that you say doesn't even look lavender-
when lavender was first discovered, Rich Z called them mochas,
because of that exact coloration. You can also see a big patch of
zig-zag pattern, which, while not exclusive to lavender, is very common
in that morph.

So here is my little Levi after another shed, now he looks a lot more like the pictures I see but the peach is coming in strong and he is like a baby pinkish.. the pictures he looks more reddish in is enhanced by the flash... I can't wait to see him as an adult... He's a little weirdo but very cute..

Levi is starting to really color up... I have no clue what he will look like when he's finished but if these colors keep on developing.... oooohhhH!!! I love it! And he has officially hit 31 grams, he was 8. something when he arrived...
