Live feeding problem

Shaberry, don't be afraid to go into like Aquarium type places either. We found F/T mice at a place called Aquamains that specializes in fish. They also, however, sell some snakes (including supplies and mice). So... even the most unlikely of places might carry. You never know until you ask. :)

Unfortunately, there are no local aquatic shops around where I live. But, thanks for the suggestion Em.

You can get bags of 25 pinkies at any of your local reptile shows for $9 a bag. Your in Cali you got buttloads of reptile shows:)

Do we really? I only know of 2 that are close to me. But, thanks a lot for letting me know danielle. I'll make sure to check out that deal when I go to the shows. =)

Here was a humane society rescue.
This snake was fed live.

Ouch looks bad!! Looks like he was left alone with the mouse?

yep and I can tell you, unless its a newly hatched snake, typically most NA rats will take Frozen thawed. I have converted all my snakes to eat frozen thawed. Its easier and cheaper. I do keep a colony of live mice here for the pinks for any hatchlings. But all in all I give them frozen.
Heck, I have a w/c fox snake that readily took frozen from me and I have a water snake that was fed straight fish readily take thawed pinks from me with out missing a meal.

When people feed live (who are not large breeders) , they are typically doing it for themselves and not for the animal. Its all about the show.
