Making my own cage furniture...

Wow... Everyone is so creative... I think I want to make some hides too, it looks like fun... :) I'm glad this old thread made it back to the top... ;)

Also love the lego idea... Those geckos look awesome in their castles... My babies could use some castles... :)

I'm curious about the torched PVC pipe thing.. is that safe? I mean, when the PVC gets hot and then cools again, it doesn't exude any toxic chemicals that can hurt the snakes does it? I got a ball python and I want to do something like this for his viv, but I want to be sure it's safe first...

That Lego castle is bananas! I love it. My son is a freak for Legos and would go crazy if I told him he could build Pandora a hide. Everyone is so creative. I'm glad someone resurrected this thread.

Ive torched plenty of PVC, and it's quite rank/toxic when burning. Dunno how safe it is after it cools. Basically it's just melted plastic.

Yeah, that's kinda what I figured. It sure looks amazing! I'm gonna definitely do that for my snakes, starting with my ball python.

Flower pots!

I use plastic flower pots sometimes, all you need to do is cut a door in the bottom and thats it and its cheap! Also any cardboard boxes you have lying around small ones i mean, I got a new router recently and the power supply came in a small box so i cut a door in it and he loves it =]

I've used aquarium sealant/fixative and glued some polished river rocks togheter to make a nifty cave/mountain thing. I've also carved blocks of wood into caves and tunnels also. I just had to be careful what type of fixative I used, aquarium sealant seems to be the cheapest and most safe fixative that I've found.

GE silicone I is safe to use in aquarium, once its dried and cured, i use it all the time for my aquariums, a tube of it only cost 3 bucks, way cheaper then those aquarium sealants...
