Marshmallows?! (Clutch #9)

Pretty babies, Brent! Congratulations. Is the caramel male on your website (whose thumbnail I can't see as a large photo, by the way) the sire? Also, I've noticed that certain caramels - like your male - have a silvery or metallic sheen while others do not. Is it heritable? At what point does that coloration become noticeable/predictable? Can you tell after a shed or two, or do you have to wait longer? Thanks for your thoughts.
Yes, the Caramel male is the sire. Not sure why the link isn't working for you as I just triple checked it and it worked for me. Either way, here he is: (Pic taken just Tuesday AND notice the new and improved blue dog dish?!?!)

As for the silvery/metallic sheen I'll be honest and say that he's the only Caramel I've had to adulthood. Here's his hatchling photo as well:

and here was 6 months later:

Not sure if that helps or answers your questions. :shrugs:

Thanks for the pictures. It's amazing how much some of these animals' coloration changes as they grow. He's beautiful - and I'd never have guessed that the hatchling in that photo would grow up to be so light in color. ( Nice blue dog dish, too. ) I really like one of those babies.....hmm........

Wow Brent, I'm not usually too fond of straight up Caramels, but your boy is very nice :)

Congrats again on the beautiful babies!
