Good call on picking up but honestly, he looks pretty good for a "mistreated animal". Isn't it at all possible you may be doing the former owner injustice?

He wasn't ever "mistreated" from what I understand. But think about it. Being fed a fuzzy every two weeks (I asked her how often he was fed), kept in a dark closet in a horribly dirty cage with no water and hides that won't even cover you... He hadn't been handled in months, and feeding day meant a thawed fuzzy thrown in his dirty tank for him to find. I think that's a miserable life for any animal.

These pictures make him look a little fatter than he is. When he moves, he's got skin folds... Or does that sound good to you?

I'd appreciate it if you'd not turn this around on me. Sure, you can see the pictures, but you can't see it in real life, nor can you smell it. If you're going to belittle someone for trying to help an animal that cannot help itself, I suggest you find a different forum.
