what do u think is the cheapest food that you can give your breeder mice that still meet the health requirements. From certain websites i have looked at, they say if u find a cheap dog food without dye, and certian fat and protien % then they are great for the mice. And i hear about these lab blocks-u would think these would be perfered over the dog food-or maybe a mixture- where would u suggest i look to find lab blocks at a reasonable price???? thkn you very much in advance

I started my breeders off on cheap dogfood, but switched to Mazuri 5m30. I can say that I have noticed a huge difference in production, but I don't loose as many adults prematurely. I suppose you can look at that as an increase in production.

I like to use kitten chow for the females only. This is along with their normal diet (lab blocks, or seed mix). Just give em a variety of things, they eat most anything.

Step right up, and make a little porker with this calorie rich stuff, without even trying. Packs the ol' weight on pretty fast, goes right to the girls thighs. waddle, waddle. ;)
The extra fat content could make for an extra rich mommas milk, I suppose.
