My collection photo thread (HeavenHell)

You have some beautiful snakes HeavenHell!
Thanks. I'm going to try and take some new photos this weekend.

My plan was for only a pair of graybands this season, but both breeders threw one in for free, so I ended up with 2.2. None were established feeders when I got them, but three of the four are chowing down on unscented pinkies now. The fourth refused to eat anything, so I cooled him for two weeks and now he's taking F/T house geckos. I usually have good luck switching them to pinkies once their feeding response is activated, so hopefully this guy cooperates. I only have a few geckos left.

Love those okeetees, don't know if it's the pattern or what but they look like they have such cute short noses.

Here's Echo. Maybe a bit hard to tell in this photo, but she has an all black head.

Holy cow your snakes & photography are amazing!:eek1::bowdown: I was searching to find out how to tell the difference or what the difference was between kings & corns (& rat & ...) & it brought me to your thread.

I was heavily into photography for many years & had all the gear (including own darkroom & studio) until most of it got stolen. So haven't done much in over a decade (closer to 2 now. Never bothered to replace it all, too expensive).

What's your favourite lighting source to work with & favourite lens?

Oh first of all thanks for the compliment.

I usually use two table top studio lights with 5000K daylight bulbs. Most of my snake photos are taken with a Tamron 90mm macro lens (Canon mount). Every once in a while I use daylight to get some different effects. I almost always use a tripod so I can shoot at f/8 - f/10 and get a decent DOF.

That was my husband's favourite lends too!

My camera was very basic, just a Pentax K1000. I did mostly B&W shapes, textures & high contrast but preferred playing in the dark room. My husband loved his Tamron macro lens & all the funky filters. He's a Canon & Toshiba man (I think the latter make is correct... can't remember)

We've had our Canon Rebel XT since '06 (we needed something quick, easy & affordable when we switched to digital) & I still haven't played with all the features, I just can't seem to wrap my brain around all the extra features. We need to upgrade it though, poor thing is falling apart.
