my little checkers got out :(

i was frantic. thats why my post was all funky and i apologize for that and the whole washing machine i have no idea how it happened. i took her to the vet that was the first thing i did when i found her.. i honestly don't know how it happened but she is now in a new cage with plenty of hides and paper towels and a water bowl. the cage has a good lid. we found her not a only an hours later. granted she found my mom. what were guessing happened was she crawled in some dirty cloths and they got picked up and put in the laundry(washing machine) my mom thankfully on did a rinse cycle she opend the washer to check it before running the soap.. and thats when she jumped out.. when we looked inside the washer there is a ledge were water dosen not reach this is were we think she hid... this is all speculation but im trying to help you guys understand i am not a irresponsible owner.. if there are any questions plz pm me.. thank you.

i got more information about the detergent thing from my mom after the fact... and i said she isnt.. and after the fact i went to vet i didnt have time to come back on.. plz pm me if you want or need more information

omg plz stop... i told you everything i told you shes been seen by the vet she has her own new home in a different cage...i have 6 other snakes i posted because i freaked i needed someone to talk to and all i get is how irresponsible i am piratically i said if there was anything else to say to pm me and tell me how you feel then.. but come on what do you want from me. i joined this forum for a reason just in case i have questions or something. is that irresponsible.. i think not plz if you have something to say pm me.. i tried to drop it i tryed to apologise..what else do you want.. my reptiles are my kids i love them with everything i have i don't use anything that could be harmful i use all paper towels they all get held except after eating.. plz you guys keep repeating your selves about the husbandry read the post i answered my self several times.. i apologise if i had made any one angry or upset i was looking for people to talk to but instead i get beat down.. i don't think that is fair. if i did anything wrong then point it out to me without being rude about it.

again im sorry for any misunderstandings

I think this seems like a big misunderstanding too. Keeping a small (she says it is TINY) snake in a deli cup is not cruel or if it is there are a lot of really cruel professional breders out there. A small snake in a deli that has a small (condiment sized) water bowl and a small (think a piece of TP tube) hide is fine. If you read a few posts here many breeders use sandwich boxes and so on. I have used the deli size for some "runts" - it makes it harder for the snake to get lost than if you have it in a huge shoebox when it is just tiny.
As for the washing machine, I am willing to bet the snake just appeared there after the wash cycle but did not go through it. Come on now, almost everyone who has kept snakes has had escapes before and those who have not are lucky. Calling someone an idiot is not going to help any. I am sure Ashley is doing the best she can and at least she took the snake to a vet. What is done is done, and nobody is perfect...

Ms Jenn... Indeed you get reps from me..

Apparently a lot of people would be appauled to know that a lot of corns spend signifigant amounts of time in Delis.. Shocking? Not to me, nor do I think it is a cruel practice regardless.. I think this young lady needs a little slack cut for her..

DYK I didn't think twice about the deli cup? It was the "she smells of laundry detergent" that made my jaw drop. I can't imagine a snake living through a wash cycle, so the fact that she's still alive is very reassuring! I'm glad to hear that she's alive and well, and that she's been seen by a vet. Kudos to you for that. ;)

There's already a snake named Whirlpool here who went through the washing machine. Owned by Cornspots.

I'm glad your snake is doing alright. I'm also glad you got her into a new home and hope to see pics of her at some point.
