My snake got mean.....

Slugging out is pretty common. I'd say 20% of mine do it every year. By all means, feed your snake in another enclosure if it works for you, but it will not have much (if any) effect on temperament. It can be a handy time to spot clean though. If I had one snake and it was a bold eater, I'd probably do it. Only other thing of concern is your temps. 72-75 for your hot spot is over 10 degrees cooler than I find best for digestion. However, before changing anything, try a different thermometer. If she's eating, digesting, and acting normally, they're probably warmer than the reading you are getting. Glad she's back to her old self. I have a couple of truly ornery corns. What I'd give to have such a simple solution as a new enclosure!

Both my girls laid slugs last spring, this year I have 3 females that I will monitor and then another 3 babies I will watch next spring too. I never thought it would happen, but chickens do it everyday, why not snakes every year?

In the 25 years that I've kept snakes it's never happened to me. Most of those snakes weren't sexed but it's never happened (that I'm aware of).

Thanks for the info tho.

Chip: when I mentioned the 72-75 temps, that is the ambient temp of the room. That's without the use of a UTH.

I noticed that the UTH burned out and I wasn't sure how long it HAD not been working. The new viv has a fresh UTH.

My temps are back where they should be...thank you for the feedback Chip

You said "the pad is always 72-75," so I presumed that's what you meant. Ambient temps aren't too important as long as you avoid extremes.

Sorry, my pad meaning where I live...slang for apartment...my previous posts mentioned that I discovered the UTH had stopped working.

Either way, she appears to be in good shape again now that her environment is appropriate

The more you handle your corn the less aggresive the corn will become. be gentle and patient. The corn probably recognizes the tank opening as feeding time especially if not handled enough. Since you changed the enclosure let her get used to her environment before handling
