Hey everyone..im new to keeping snakes, but not new to having pets.. I have a new corn snake and her name is Indira, She was really active when i first got her at night and not so active during the day..i figured that would be the normal condition, however i switched her to a 20 gal, and she has a good amount of hides in both the cool side and the warm side.. Anyways she has not been so active anymore during the day or night as far as i can tell. I thought maybe it was the temp. but i konw the cool side is about 70 and the warm side is about 80 so i have no idea..she hasnt regurgitated as far as i can tell, but i really havent seen to much defacation either..so im all out of ideas

She could be getting ready to shed, which is why she could be hiding more. How long has she not been as active? The shed cycle can go from one-two weeks.

Im no expert, but from what ive gathered, it seems that some snakes go through cycles.. they will be active for a period of time and then they will appear to get lazy :grin01: ... either that or your snake just moves around when you arent looking!

Oh and by the way, Indira is a very neat name! :wavey:

thanks

she has been not so active for about a week and a half. she is still eating fine, and i know that a snake, when about to shed, usually gets glazed over eyes and the skin begins to fog, and i really dont see any of that..thats why i was kinda worried. well that and not being able to see any poop...but thank you for your help, and i hope all is well..and thanks about the name..It means "beautiful" , it fit to me..

Sometimes you'll miss the blue stage completely if they enter it during digestion of a mouse. I've had that happen to me more than once. They go into hiding to digest for a few days and they blue and clear in that time. Then I come in to a shed skin!

Our two both became less active when we moved them to bigger vivs.
It's taken them a while to get used to them, but they are out a bit more now-approx 2 months after upsizing the vivs
