Thanks for the suggestions. :) I think that those are great names. A little late on the post... :awcrap: We have now named him/her Maize (American Indian for 'corn'). Thanks again!

Well it doesn't matter now that you've named your snake but I named mine Spitfire. There was no real reason behind it.
 
Nice name. :) I am thinking of getting another snake, so i guess this thread is back up and open for interesting names ;)
 
Me too! I'm gonna get my second sometime late next month. I wanna get a male and name it Snake. How original.:D
 
Mine is named C.S. for Christmas Snake (got her as an early Xmas present), or for Cornsnake....take your pick!
 
We (my bf and I) had no idea what to really name our snake, plus we didn't know if it's a f or m for sure...so we call it Snakey. It's a little lame, but it's catchy and it matches. My next snake will be named Bandit...so we'll have Snakey and the Bandit. :shrugs:
 
I am having a hard time with names. My husband named my sons snake tammuz, I dont like that that much. He wanted to name my sunglow after the greek god of death. I wouldn't let him. so my little sunglow is nameless. Most time time names just pop into my head. I think im having a problem because it has to be a Perfect name, because he is my perfect snake!

I wanted the perfect name as well. It took me a while, I wanted something cute and silly and from a stupid comedy movie that I like. Then I decided on Snoogins, which is a made up word they use in Jay & Silent Bob Strike back, sounds cute, 1st two letters are Sn, like in Snake.

I think a silly name makes the snake much less intimidating to people who aren't into snakes.

I had the same issue with my betta fish, I wanted something a little meaner because bettas fight. I decided on Bender, like the robot from Futurama.
 
I know i'm supposed to be the one with the naming problem, but tyretosmom, for some reason i've had a glint of glory for your little or big sunglow.

Sunbeam, Crystaline(sun causes light to flow through crystals, and, yeah), Light Ray, or Gold (attatchments: Wing, Golden Light), Sun Flower

If you have a picture, i might have another flood of glory. ;)

If you already like any of those, take your pick from mine or you can chose MegF 's Ra. I tend to come up with two-part names/compound words as names, so if you don't like that type you probably don't want me as a client. ;)
 
We had no trouble naming our fellas (Except for one slight spat that was easily settled.)!
Ichabod Wadjet Wiggles - My grandmother came up with Ichabod because she has a snake- phobia and says "ish!" whenever she sees one. I came up with Wadjet because it is a snake petpet at Neopets.com, and it sounds really cute. My dad really liked the name Wiggles, so we made it his 'last name'.
Abigail Zippy Wiggles - My dad wanted to keep the last name Wiggles and also wanted to have an 'Ichabod and Abigail'. My little brother insisted on calling her Zippy, which turned out to be a fitting name.

I like all of the suggestions for the sunglow, but I would need to know what kind of morph you are planning on getting before I can unleash my brilliance upon this site.:idea:

Domino - I was told he's a ghost but now I'm not sure... anyway, he has black and white checkers on his belly

My Okeetee is named Doc. I got that in a round-about way.
Okeetee=OK=OK Corral (as in shoot out at the OK Corral)=Doc Holiday=Doc

My male Ghost: Jacob Marley ( A Christmas Carol)

and of course there are my Lord Of The Rings names
My Anery: Legolas
My male Cream: Strider
(legolas and strider just seemed like perfect names for snakes)
My female Cream: Arwen
My Amel Motley: Gimli
My Okeetee hatchlings: Bilbo and Frodo
and my two Bairds rat snakes: Sam and Rose

Then we have my female reverse okeetee/cream: Yoda
I know Yoda was a male but I named her this before I knew her sex. I thought of Yoda because she has a perfect "Y" on her head.

A female Okeetee hatchling named Ariel...just liked the name

My Stripe Cream: Stripe ( I can pretend I named her after the mean little Gremlin in the movie Gremlins) In other words I ran out of names ...LOL

And my three snows: Cold Names
Female Snow: Glacier
Female Snow: Frosty
Unknown Snow: Yeti

I guess when the number in my collection gets too high I will end up going to ID numbers but there will always be a few favorites and display tank animals that will get names.

Thanks for dating us old folks Jimmy! I don't want to venture a guess as to the percentage of posters on this forum that have no idea what you are talking about or weren't even alive when that movie was made. :D
