The 1st would get a lot of charcoal, some bloods and some amel. The 2nd would get about 2/3 charcoal and 1/3 phantom. Note these are not exacts and just rudimentary estimates based on my knowledge currently, im sure some expert will correct me, but you should choose from that. Just make sure you search all the stuff on breeding on this site first.

The charcoal X charcoal het amel bloodred will give you 100% charcoal 50% chance het amel bloodred, but the charcoal X phantom pairing will give you 100% charcoal 100% het hypo (phantom) so that would be the pairing I would choose. And you never know, the female might be het hypo. She might also be het amel &/or bloodred but if not, guaranteed hets are better than possible hets, IMO, unless the possible het(s) are newer/more desirable genes like terrazzo or kastanie or palmetto.

The 1st would get a lot of charcoal, some bloods and some amel.

This would only work if the charcoal female was also het blood and het amel. Otherwise as Susan stated it will be 100% charcoals with 50% possible het amel and diffused.

The 2nd would get about 2/3 charcoal and 1/3 phantom.

Likewise this would only work if the Charcoal female were het hypo. Otherwise 100% charcoals definite het hypo. If the female does turn out to have a hidden het hypo the theoretical ratio of offspring would be 50/50 (charcoal/phantom)

I would probably do the same as Susan and go for the guaranteed hets in the offspring. Unless you really have your heart set on a charcoal/blood/amel project (though in that case it would probably be easier to purchase another snake with all/most of those genes)

Hello to the OP. not to be rude and am not wanting to start anything on here. But I saw your ad on Fauna and that normal male looks about half starved. It scares me that someone wants to breed and produce lots of babies when they have one in that kind of shape and don't think anything of it. As to post it for sale like it is perfectly healthy.

i think you should pair it with a tessera het charcoal
that would give you
charcoal tesseras
charcoals
tesseras
and
normals
wouldnt that be the most sweetest awesomest thing ever?
i think it would be
press 1 for yes and press 2 for no
thanks and have a good day

Just to let the concerned people know the male normal is small. He eats every7 to 10 days and he is only a 2010 how big should he be as big as the 07 I dont think so!I am not just breeding willie nielli. I have done a lot of research and think that its my right if i so decide to breed a few pairs of snakes that I have I should be able to do! so dont be so quick to judge me because I have one small snake you know nothing about me ! I mean really is this what it come to in the snake world you are not able to breed some thought out and hopefully well prepared snakes unless you have been keeping snakes for say a thousand years ? why should you be able to and not me what makes you any better than me?I would like to know ? I dont think its my god given right but I think i should be able to if i so choose to .

There is a difference in small and emaciated. You can see the snakes spine and it is more a triangle shape showing it is well under weight. Post the pic here and see what everyone else thinks.

thank you to the nice people that gave me some nice help to try and decide what to breed. I have decided to go with the phantom i like the hypo being in the mix so maybe i could get some phantoms if my girl is het for hypo .THANKS AGAIN JOE

NO disrespect but that male normal is emaciated. His body is a triangle shape and is eating its muscle. A healthy snake would not have that sharpe triangle shape to his body. I have rescued small underfeed animals that were no where in that condition. Ok so you are not breeding him? But how did he get in such bad shape? That snake could be evidence to animal humane officers of abuse. At that shape I would euthinize it and put it out of its misery.

You can sit here and seriously tell me he is just small because he is a 2010. That poor snake has serious health issues going on. The first one looks good, its the second one we are worried about.

Most here that saw that picture are worried if you could let a snake become that emaciated that perhaps breeding at this time wouldnt be a good choice because hatchlings require a heck of a lot more food and can become sick and emaciated long before you realize it

first off for the breeding question susan is one of the best breeders and her advice i would go for, Now that normal is NOT a 2010 corn snake that snake is past 3 feet long and is emaciated! Im a Tech and I do the local corn snake rescue work with wild life rehab. Not to start stuff but that snake needs medicial attention and FOOD

thank you and have a good day :D

Okay, I'm feeling crazy on caffeine right now so I'll just ignore my usual filter function and point out some...strangelings.

A. On this thread you say it is a 2010, on the ad you say it is a 2009.

B. I'm not comparing it to the 2007. No matter what the hatch year, any snake that looks like that is very thin. The spine is extremely protruding, and there barely appears to be any muscle. Comparatively speaking, most 2011 hatchlings out there appear more well developed and "thicker" than the normal, and they are certainly younger than both the 2007 and the 2009/2010.

C. This one I'm just wondering out loud about...what are "possible hidden hets"?
Hi I have a CHARCOAL het blood , het amel (male) 07 and an 09 normal poss.hidden hets (male)
I would think that technically all snakes have possible hidden hets, because they are just hets that show up that we didn't know were there. Do you maybe mean it actually has legit "possible hets" from the parents? (as in the parents were het for something, so there is a possibility that the normal is also het...or maybe there are het markers for something). (and if so you might want to list them in the ad...though I wouldn't actually be trying to sell that snake at this time until it is bulked up and healthy).

Ok, that snake is not being fed every 7-10 days unless he is infested with worms.

Judging you on the shape the poor snake is in. doesn't matter how long you have been into snakes... anyone with a lick of sense would know that snake is in dire need of medical attetion.

We are worried that if you can let that happen to one snake in your care that the hatchling dont have a very good chance to live very long.
