He doesn't really need a thermostat- if you study cornsnakes in the wild they tolerate temps as high as the 90's with high humidity, and in the winters they hibernate up to 6 months without food in 40 F temps

I had a thermostat quit working on me one day, and I was of at work. I came home and found my corn at the bottom of her water bowl....thats how I knew something was wrong, she hates water and there she was sitting in there looking at me.....I checked her thermometer and it said 95 so I dont know if Id use the word "tolerate" She didnt tolerate it very well, what kind of life is living in your water bowl?

Yeah 95 is hot, but the point is she adapted. Plus I have a 20 Gallon tank thats pretty long, if it ever did get 95. He can go to the other side where its usually like 75

When I'm leaving for a few days I turn my house thermostat off or way up(so the air won't kick on until it's about 85-90 in the house), then I leave the light off. The tank stays the same temp as the house. If the air's on at 75 it stays about 70 in his tank without the heat light, so if the house doesn't get hotter than 90(and it won't because I set the house thermostat to that), then his tank won't get hotter than about 85. I recommend leaving the light off, but making sure your house won't get to hot or cold.

Why would you want them to "adapt" to heat? You bought the snake, for 40$ buy the thermomstat. Just because she didnt sit there and fry on the glass doesnt mean she adapted. Doesnt really make sense to me.

Most people want their pets to "thrive" not "adapt"
