Neosporin vs Polysporin

Hey all,
so if this is posted somewhere else I apologize, I wasn't able to find it.
I just have a quick question regarding wound care.
I see on posts about wound treatment, that many users suggest to use Neosporin very sparingly on open wounds. However, I only see recommendations for Neo

Is Neosporin the only safe ointment to use, or is Polysporin acceptable as well?
I only ask because I only see recommendations for Neosporin, none for Poly.

If Polysporin is unsafe to use, what is the difference between it and Neosporin that makes it unsafe?

Just asking because I'm curious. :spinner:
 
polysporin versus neosporin. Neosporin is a triple-packed ointment containing neomycin, polymixin B sulfate and bacitracin. Polysporin contains only polymixin B sulfate and bacitracin zinc. (copied & pasted from a dermatology website )

Seems like Neosporin in readily available in the USA and Polysporin in Canada hence why you see Neosporin recommended more so on this site :)

As long as I have GOOGLE :eek:

I did know neosporin was a triple ointment and polysporin was a double ointment but what was in them was only a Google search away to making me look smarter than I am :nyah:

What did we do before the internet? I wonder if most of the people today who were raised with the internet would be able to survive!!!
