Meet Kira! I got her 1 week ago from a ball python breeder who was letting go of her "extras" to get back to focusing on balls. Kira is 1 year old and 2 feet 10.9 inches. She has been fed live since the breeder had her (and has a few healing bite marks ), but took a F/T mouse with NO hesitation on Friday (other than to decide it was dead before eating it)!
The lady said she is an anery, so I'd like to know if ya'll agree. I don't know a thing about corn morphs; I just know I liked the look of her, and doing a search for anerys for sale, decided that it was a good deal. I'm not really going to be upset if she's not, since I'm not planning on breeding, just curious if that's what she really is.
Also, I suspect she may have the start of a RI, not surprising since she came from Craigslist. I usually expect something to be wrong with a critter from CL, so this is not an issue for me. Is there any recommendations on something I can do to help her get over it, or does a RI always need a vet visit? She opens her mouth slightly every so often (about every 5 minutes) and breathes out forcefully, almost like a short hiss barely a second long. She seems to only do it when I hold her and she's actively moving around. I hear no crackles, rattles, or whistling, and I see no mucus or bubbles when I open her mouth.
On with a few pictures!
