Just buy a thermostat- the ZooMed 500R is reasonable, and the BAH-1000 is slightly more expensive but nicer. (Big Apple Herp). If you Google it and look under Shopping, you can find the cheapest price on the 500R. I find good deals on reptile supplies all the time on eBay, too.

That would work too :) I personally prefer the Herpstats (have three already), so I'll use the books until I get the money sent for those. The books are free and I don't seem to have any problems keeping the temps in the correct range.

I have my tank on a iron stand, so the bottom is exposed to air and still the temp on the warm side is in the 90's. I can only assume that the heater pad is to much for the tank, therefore I will get a smaller one and regulate the temp from there.....
