Yes, I forgot the metallic sheen as well. I find beauty in both the "matte" and "metallic" types. I was actually working on a line that included all my goals but also promoted the metallic sheen. That line of animals have some Upper Keys blood in them. However, they also all proved to be het for the new morph Z so their purpose in my collection has changed for the time being.

BTW, nice pics, Carol. I'll take that first one, thanks! :grin01:

Thanks Serp! I agree that Hypo Miami is a winner, next year she will be bred with a male Miami Motley that also throws nice silver kids. :)

could that be a het. marker?

I don't think so. Here is the only hold back that does not carry the gene and she is the most metallic of the bunch. I don't consider her a Miami Phase but held her back because of her pattern.
Sorry Serp if I'm hijacking... you can give me the axe anytime you like.... :sidestep:

Here's one of my locality males after shedding today. The two females he was bred to both have more pure-silver (less speckled orange) backgrounds, and they are also more red than he is. I don't mind the bit of color in the background, depending on the color. He has the thinnest borders of my Miamis. That's not the best photo, but you can see he has a bit of tan near his head (but not very much.)
