Corns actually have 3 different color pigments, Red, Yellow, Black. unlike humans we only have 1 color pigment. When one or more color pigments are absent on a corn it's considered an albinism.

Amelanistic Corn = red albino because it lacks black pigmentation
Anerythristic Corn = black ablino corn because it lacks red pigmentation
Snow Corn= (yellow and white snake) lacks black and most red pigment but they still have some yellow pigment.

All three are considered albino's because they lack one or more of the 3 color pigments. Does that kinda make sense?

I am not sure about the ground walnuts but the sands are not good for corns, they do not eat it so the calcium in it is wasted on corns as well as I have been told it can get in their scales and cause problems. I was also told it can cut them when their bodies are still "new" from a shed. Not sure how reliable that info is but I would not risk it.

Aspen is the preferred bedding, shredded newspaper and papertowels also work well :)
