Oh, Craigslist...

It says they are eating 2 rat pups every two weeks....that's equivalent to a weanling or even small rat every two weeks....which is more than sufficient for an adult.....Most domestic snakes are overfed and overweight....feeding every 2-3 weeks is a healthy schedule.

Yeah to me it seems a little less than what I would feed but ya know lol By the way, I just moved from Clermont to the Panhandle! I lived there since I was 8! So crazy to see another Clermartian on here!

Ha! That is pretty funny! Not often I run into people that even know where it is!

Dammit. Another skinny one. I'm still working on my other rescue but it's still hard to see a baby(?) like this. From http://orangecounty.craigslist.org/for/5190216988.html

Yeah, I was thinking maybe yearling-size, but the snake could be 10 for all I know. I'm half tempted to email the person and say the snake is very thin and that if they are unable to sell it, I will take it and work on bringing it back to condition, no judgement or shame involved. I would just want to help get that snake back to a healthy shaoe.

Half-tempted, though. The other half is aware of the skinny snake I just got off CL (the thin, beat-up bloodred stripe) and the babies I aim to sell in the next few weeks/months.

I...what...omg... 2yrs and lives in a 5 gallon tank. What the actual ****?! Maybe they got it recently? Maybe they were told 2 months and heard years? I just...can't.

I would bet they meant 2 months, regardless it is really thin. I also have never heard that pregnant women can't be around reptiles

Has to do with risk of salmonella poisoning. Which, typically should not be a problem in captive bred animals I wouldn't think.

However, much like cats, they can be kept with proper precautions. Such as having your partner do the poop scoop duty. Or simply wearing gloves/mask when doing it yourself.

Wash hands and salmonella is almost a non existant problem...she'd be in more danger getting it from handling meat or feeding her dog his food....my mom had cats during her pregnancy and didn't keel over and die....wash up, avoid breathing in the dust or wear a mask...you'll be okay...cripes!

Didn't know the Alaskin's had developed a carpet python.....where the hell IS Alaski?

Decent looking jungle carpet python though....going to have a lot of melanism later but it at least looks healthy.....

Found this "Ultra Sunkissed" fatty on Craigslist today... Poor thing...I'm really hoping he just fed this guy before the picture...
