OMG We Hatched A Two-Headed Snake...

Kinks! So Sorry!

Sorry to hear about the little guys condition. Keep us posted on the x-rays and his condition. Really hope he makes it!

Todd

hi,jamie, buzz so awesome to see some blown up pics. sorry about the kinks guys. i hope though that the lil guys or girl both? live well and happily. eagerly awaiting updates. hope to see him at the Dixie show one day :)

Even with the kinks that is one awesome little critter!
I love the deformed head, it's adorable in a weird way.

Flatline has an almost 90 degree kink in her back, but she is doing very well, so perhaps if this guy is just fed really small meals more often it'll have an easier time?

Still though, congrats on hatching a two headed baby!!

Good luck with the baby! Sorry to hear that it is a bit of a disheartening situation, but 2 heads are deformities, so i can see why it's likely that more of its body is disfigured as well. I do agree with Alicat, in that the deformy head is super cute in a derpy way lol

Any updates on the baby? Can it move normally at all or is the kinking too severe? I have to say the deformed head would make me personally lean towards euthanasia.

The head your referring to actually is quite active, and flicks at us regularly, along with the other head. It is in shed right now, and in isolation. It was suggested to us to keep it isolated for some time to make sure its immune system is up to speed. It moves pretty good, but as mentioned before, "quality of life", will be considered and the vet will help us with that decision when it is time :)

I wonder how you would go about feeding him? Possible problems with both heads going for one prey item? I suppose it depends on how his insides are hooked up, 1 stomach or 2, soo many questions and variables. Good luck.

Good luck and I hope it feeds.
I had a 2 headed snake die when it failed to hatch fully.
You have already hatched it out now I hope it continues to beat the odds.

To be honest I would not try to save it, but that is very personal. I hope he will thrive if you decide to give it a try and will bring lots of joy!

Sorry to read that he passed... He was VERY neat, thank you so very much for sharing the pictures with us!!

Too bad that he passed. Are you going to preserve him?
(I would if I ever was in the situation).

Sorry to hear the little guy didn't make it.:awcrap: They are so rare that losing one must be a heartbreaker!

Todd:(

Jamie is going to take him to the University tomorrow and "fix" him in Formalin then place him in ethanol for permanent display for educational purposes..

Thanks again everyone for the well wishes and support...we appreciate it greatly.
