Didn't the bloods get outcrossed to add vigour to the line, because of small clutch size and non-thriving hatchlings?

vigour to the gene and kill the strain. Noone knew that the base stock had a subduded pattren . everyone was breedthem to bright orange corns with red saddles. I was lucky to meet a guy that used to collect in hastings and show me some F2 or 3 capitve borne stock , no bloods though . I had a insight that most didn't. I seen them back in 1995 when I was down jasper Co looking for Okeetees and met Jim Stahl. He tried to trick me and told me he found on the road a hour ago. I said wow it is so red the saddles almost blend to the back round color. Afrte about 5 min. Of me drooling He told me what is was. I held it and scrottonized it and remember it like it was yeasrerday.

Damn, those colors are stunning and the bellies are also great. I really would like to see what the ofspring of these would look like...

If the females are carring the gene they will make some screaming bloodreds

FEMALE # 3 HAS BREED TO DADDY !!!!! Now I will know if she is carrying the gene or not, I can't wait. in 07 female #1 produced no bloodreds out of 12 eggs. #2 only had 4 eggs go full term and I got 2 bloored males and to females that are possible het

So these are related to Twopersons? He's getting some nice deep reds developing :)

What ever happened to the best of the best? You know, from the time when the old timers felt the white bellied bloods were the true bloods? To me, it ( this thread ) sounded like your trying to preserve a line of bloods, but you outcrossed the lines into an okeetee line.. I guess I can't possibly have your intellect as you told me before, but sure sounds like you broke the blood line anyways.. *shrugs*

If I would have had hastings, platka, St auguststien corns i would used them The only thing I had the with deep saturated color and had a subdude pattren that I could trace linage to make sure that I keep them pure corns was my okeetee corns. I did the best with what I have to work with. I will be crossing deep red north Fl corns into the line as soon as collectors get them for me. My main intrerest with this is presrving the bloodred look in a pure tracible corn. To many contanints in corns today. I dont care if my bloodreds are pure leach stock as long as I can keep them pure corns with the same look as the orginal leach bloods. I could got my results faster by using hobby stock But I want to make sure that they stay pure corn

Where do you think they find new speices of fuana. If the wild ones aint pure then where do you think they will get pure corns. Now my okeetee animals parents were caught in the late 70's to early 80's. If the wild corns are not pure then they would not be listed in as a sepreat speices and listed as a intergrade . In been to the okeetee 3 times
