PEGGY (R.I.P.) EGG STATUS 0 HELP!

Christen:
Yes, I took the picture the night of the same day she came out of the egg which was yesterday.
Ok, so we put a wet bounty and some spagnum moss along with a dry spot.
She looks like she ate three pinkies already but I guess that the yolk was big enough to give her that belly...LOL...Looks funny though but she is active and allert.

We do not want to loose her....what else can I do for her or him?

Yes, I agree, I was thinking about doing that because I have not seen her drinking water or maybe she did but that is a good way to at least absorb some H2O.
More tips please, we cannot loose this mirable baby!

At this point don't do anything. In about a week she will shed. At this stage we only feed 1 pinky every 5 days with their first meal being after they shed for the first time about a week after the hatch.

You are doing exactly what you need to. Keep him warm, humid and with plenty of places to hide. For the first feeding I would put him in as small of a container as you can with the warmed f/t pinkie and leave him undisturbed for 10-20 minutes. Some hatchlings can be stubborn eaters. Be perisistent.

I prefer to give a hatchling all night to decide if it wants to eat. 10-20 minutes just isn't enough time for all of them to make up their minds. Yes, the pinky can get pretty disgusting if not eaten, but I've had too many take awhile to finally eat it, especially when dealing with the first few meals.

Thanks to ou all guys for the good advises...she is doing great so far...still waiting for her to shed.

I'm no expert but...
*80 degrees is fine but I would go with 75-77 degrees.
*The humidity should be typical around 60%.
*Newspaper works but I would rather use something less slippery like aspen bedding.
*You are correct, wait until after he sheds which should be in a couple days.
Hope I was able to help.

Very exciting. I was sorry to hear of the loss of Peggy but I'm so pleased you have this little 1. I hope she/he thrives & does his/her mother proud :)
