People suck

So the shelter is going to take them in a couple of weeks, They got their first shots on Tuesday. I hope someone will adopt them, I just can't seem to get Shadow to warm up to them and I can't keep one if it makes her so miserable. She won't even sniff them, just skulks off to hide if I have them out. So I am doing my best to socialize them and make them as friendly as I can but they have to be in the bathroom, not ideal... I am trying to play with them a few times a day so when I take them in and they are up for adoption they will be accustomed to people and more likely to be picked. It's hard, they are more interested in playing with each other than interacting with people. I hope they go to good homes I have given them the best start in life I can.

Oh, you are doing such a good thing. How can anyone dump beebees? My Amy was dumped in the casino parking lot, she was either abused or attacked, she had a flap of her scalp barely attached to her head, but was so friendly that I would bring treats to work and while she was eating them I squirted Neosporin under the flap and patted it down. After a few days I finally brought her home, and realized I was bringing home 6 cats, not just one!

2 weeks later, 5 beautiful beebees were born, and we still have mom Amy (my husband's biggest fan) and two of her kittens who my friend had adopted but had to give back 2 years later because of allergies. Funny thing, the three of them hate each other (and don't much care for the other three cats either), I don't know why, but it is chaos in the house but at least I know they are safe from the outside world. Amy has a bald patch, but it just makes her unique.

I want to revive this thread "People Suck," by going on to another subject: people who don't keep reptiles. I was at work, talking about a co-worker's pet Iguana she once had. It passed away from old age. And the subject went to pet snakes. Unfortunately another worker (not in our department) was hanging out in a vacant desk, avoiding work. He was eavesdropping and he heard us. Well the next day, he would not let it go. He would come over and comment "oh you keep snakes. Oh, I'm so scared. Oh how can you stand it. I mean the stupidest things. It went on for a week, eventually, and he would tell his co-workers in his department that I keep a snake. But my other co-worker was left out of it. It was okay for her. I think when somebody hates you, they'll try and find something to hate you on, because they have nothing on you except their envy of your position (in my case). Well, some good came out of it: I found out he's not to be trusted, and secondly, he is one of those fake friends that hang out and judge and snitch.

What a stinker! Yes, people can be awfully prejudiced against snake keepers. I'm pretty sure we've all run into that in some form.

You did learn something important about the rotten goofball in the case. Others may figure it out from his actions here, too. If not, he'll say something about them in the future. Gossips gonna gossip.
