Pip-pip-hurrah!

Aww, shame about the little normal J9 :(

But the other hatchlings are gorgeous plump little things, congrats again! :D

Best wishes for eager feeders :)

I know, Wade. I'm glad I got up the courage to remove his egg, and ended his fight today, rather than waiting 'til tomorrow. I'm not going to post the really graphic photos,
Oh, update!!! Another amel is hatched!

real sorry the little normal didn't make it. but atleast you have the rest of his/her clutch mates and a couple more clutches on the way.

congrats on all your babies and i hope they all eat for you!

Thanks Nanci. I have no way of telling (should have marked it), but I suspect it was from the egg that I rehydrated.
I've bred finches, gerbils and guineapigs before, so have learnt to accept that you don't always get just the happy endings.
I'll thaw it out for Skeeter at some point, so I won't feel the loss was in vain.

No signs of action at all from the other two clutches. Because they're both clumped and half buried I'll only see when the top ones start pipping, I'll ask a question about it on a new thread.

So its short live already ended  , but as long as it can be still useful, its essence is not wasted but will be re-absorbed into another live.

Have my sympathy AND my congrats for all your other wonderful pippies!!

Sorry about your little kinked one. I had 2 in a clutch that had kinks like that. It makes you feel so bad for them.

Congrats on the others! :)

10 of Sundance's clutch successfully hatched, 1 egg to go. 3 normals and 7 amels.

Ok, something weird. One of the amels had a little bit of a hernia, so I put it in a tub with damp tissue. 4 days later I checked on it and found this object. The hernia seems to have healed well, with only a short stump protruding. The hatchling had pooped, so what on earth is this?
My wild speculations went from 'It's pulled its guts out', to 'It's regurgitated egg contents'.
