Pippies!!!

CornSnakeBreeder

My normal hets unknown female was bred to my hypo snow male corn snake so that I could test her for the genes hypo, anery and amel. I know she isn't het amel because last year I bred her to a normal het amel male and got only normals. This is her second time breeding, last year was her first year. There are two pippies, both normal, but there are still 21 eggs to go so hopefully I get lucky. I still have two more clutches that I am waiting on and the normal female who laid this cutch which is hatching laid a second clutch where only 3 were fertile and they are incubating now too. No photos yet, but they are coming soon!!! :D

Yeah, I'm pretty sure it's against the rules to post a thread entitled "Pippies!!!" with no pictures contained therein.

lol, pictures coming today, unfortunately one baby corn drowned in its egg today, I tried cutting the egg shell a little but it was too late. And it was a beautiful little normal, nice and BRIGHT brownish orangish. There are 2 out of the egg so far, 4 pippies and 1 die. Still 15 to go, Im going to take pictures this moment, Ill be back :)

Here are some pictures! Another one actually was out when I went to take pictures, so here are the three little normals het hypo snow that are out, and the pippies and the rest of the clutch. Enjoy! :)

Lovely normals!

I think I have 3 drowners in one clutch right now... so weird.... I don't dare to get them out; last year I did with one, it did still live though but did not make it out of the egg sac :( Not sure if I caused too much stress on him, causing him to die.

Ohh, once mine pip, I recently started cutting the pipped eggs a little bigger so they dont get their heads stuck as some did already, but I helped them open the slit so they can fit their head in and out easily. You can see in the second to last picture I posted, its a complete circle, I cut that one big because it tried to pip the egg but lost its egg tooth and almost drowned. I thought it was dead but then its little head poked up and out of the egg and it scared me :p lol. They are all pipped now, I have 16 normals out and 5 pippies, all het for hypo snow.
