It's to measure the temp inside the cage. Where the snake will be. It doesn't matter what temp the actual heat pad is, as long as you know the temp inside the cage is the right temperature, that's what's important.b23ball23 said:The thermostat- is that to measure the temp inside the cage, or to measure the temp the pad puts out. It's a good idea to get a rheostat at least. UTH's built for reptiles usually stay 90 to 100 degrees. That might be good for some reptiles, but not corn snakes.
