Progression Thread: Patternless Lavender Stripe

Blue Apple Herps

aka Matthew, PhD
I've decided to do a progression thread on this guy. Every time he sheds I'll snap a pic and post it here. First is from a little less than a month ago after he shed.

Here is is just after he shed today. He's starting to get a nice purpleish hue to him (that unfortunately doesn't show up in my pics).

Wow....odd! I'm not saying he's not beautiful, but the colour is just...odd...
I'd name him Zombie, because the pale pink-ish/purple-ish grey makes him look a little like a living dead. :D

I'd love to see his progression pics!

I bet he's purpler than that in person, and I bet he'll get more bluish purple as he gets older. Of course, my experience is with a female- so.

I do like that name, though. Maybe Rob.

Thanks for all of the compliments everyone! :)

Hmmmmm....Zombie is a GREAT name. I've "affectionately" named him Lucifer as he is the meanest snake I've ever met. I'm hoping he'll calm down after he grows up some, but I'm not so sure with him. He proactively goes to strike me every time I open his tub, and does strike me at least 10 times when I pick him up, all the while never stopping the rattling of his tail and random hiss/strikes every couple of seconds.

But maybe if he has a cooler name like Zombie he'll calm down. Zombie it is then!! Thanks for the great suggestion!

He shed yesterday. I forgot to take a pic after his last shed. But here he is. Still getting more "purple-ly". He's also very hard to photograph as he is never still - I have to hold the camera with one hand and use the other to "corral" him to stay put; and he still regularly bites and musks me. Showing no signs of calming down. But I still like him just fine! :)

I hate looking at this snake! I am so jealous!!! He's really getting pink. I need to take pics of Cali. He has such pretty eyes. Cali is a witch to handle, but at least she doesn't strike, bite or musk. She's a rattler. I love your guy's blue eyelids.

He's handsome!!! Isn't it it funny how many of the most beautiful stunning snakes also end up being little angry pistols! :)

If you just can't put up with him anymore you can send him to me!
