So, when an intelligent group of individuals is how they think religion influences our view of hybrids, breeding, etc.. etc... this is all you guys can come up with? Seriously? I think you can do better. Heck, I've even seen better memes that cover subjects like this... I mean, if you don't have any thoughts of your own on the subject matter.
For me, I get it that while there may be many different religions and I'll acknowledge that many pick and choose which parts they wish to believe in. Take the unicorn meme someone posted... Unicorns are in the bible. I don't for a minute believe that everyone that believes in the bible also believes in unicorns, talking snakes and donkeys, etc. Just like I don't believe that many that believe in the bible actually believe all the "kinds" of animals could fit on the ark given its dimensions. Where would the food go? How would you keep the animals from eating each other? A massive bottleneck that recent in our past? An earth a little older than 6,000 years old? There are many things I just can't grasp about the bible or many other religions for that matter. I don't believe or need to believe that Thor, Zeus, or Wakinyan make lightning. Those are valid religions as well though.
I do respect that those that believe those things have those beliefs however illogical I may personally find them. I can understand what is meant by a "kind" as described by creationist science aka baraminology. I can also understand what is meant by Leviticus 19:19 on the subject of hybrids. What I can't understand is the lack of willingness to examine ones own beliefs, thoughts, etc. on such a simple matter. We don't have to agree, but it is nice to genuinely share why we believe or think in a certain manner. The deeper we go into such thought processes the more we stand to understand about ourselves and how we relate to the world around us. I guess, I'm just a bit more open minded and willing to share than some in here. But, yes, I can also sense the fear of discussing such a heated topic as one might uncover that ones thoughts on the subject were completely illogical and without foundation in part or in whole and that can be devastating when one thinks of oneself as a generally rational being.
