Reverse Okeetee...

It's hard to get pics to show without a flash and it's hard to get rid of the glare with a flash, so I apologize. Also, I guess some of the pics were coming up blurred, hopefully I have fixed that problem.

The snow motley in real life is a bit more dull than most of my corns, his scales come to more of a distinct point, and he has the faintest of indications of keeling. More of an undulation than the ridge in Rich's photo. The ghost and amel look like they wanted to have keeling, but didn't quite make it. The others are glossy and smooth, no indication of a keel to the scaling whatsoever.

What do you find in your 'little' collection, Rich? Much keeling? The ones I have here from your camp don't show it. (Incidentally, the caramel in one of those pics is one of yours.)

I wonder if we have selected away from it since the bright, glossy, shimmering look comes with the loss of keeling. I sure don't see much evidence of keeling within my group, anyhow.

 :)

I was thinking the same thing...

If the keeling causes dulling of the appearance, I would guess it's likely that we've been unknowingly selecting against it by breeding for clean/bright colors.

No complaints here. :)
