Hi, everybody
I'm pretty sure my corn snake (large 4-5 yr old male) has scalerot. I know what caused it : with his last shed I probably misted to much water in his viv. He had problem with a couple of previous shed (big chuck of skin instead of a long nice one) so I wanted to raise the humidity to help him out. It was a bad idea and won't do it again. Fortunately, my other snake (wich i did the same thing to her) didn't get it (she is in an other viv). I included pictures to show you how it looks. The first one is probably the best to show how it looks.
So I wanted to know how to treat scale rot.
What I've done so far :
In his viv : removed all of the aspen, replaced it with paper towel, removed all the other stuff (hide, branch, leaves) and put a shoe box as a hide
Treatment : Applied peroxide mixed 50/50 with water followed by some polysporin (contains polymyxin B (as sulfate) and bacitracin zinc). I could not find the Neosporin other people talks about, but i think it's the same active ingredients.
Right now I treat my snake twice a day, but plan to reduce the frequency next week.
So my questions are
Thank you a lot

These two are a little blurry, but show a bit what is looks like

So my questions are
- Am I doing the right thing ?
- How do you apply the peroxide and cream ? (I use cosmetic pads that rub on him for the peroxide and my hand for the polysporin)
- How long should I keep treating him ?
- How frequently should I treat him ?
- Is there anything else I should do ?
- How long before it's all cured ?
Thank you a lot
