Ive noticed that on my snake it looks like about 10 scales are rough, and thy are sticking up. They look like dead skin but i am not sure. Is it maybe just from playing rough on his logs or fake ferns? I am pretty sure it is not ticks, and he is acting perfectly normal. I want to know if this is the beggining stages to something serious. Please help. Thanks!

I think I know what you mean...the scales are a little raised/bent/dented, right?
My snake has that too. I thought it was from him squeezing into hides that are too small for him. I've changed the hides, but he hasn't shed yet so I don't know if the hides were the culprit or not.

same thing with me

we need an expert here please,,,

i think its due to a bad shed,,,not quite sure though,,,lets just pray some expert will come here and help us

well guys

noone seems to know why so i think we should see what our snakes have in common so that we can resolve the problem

i think its cause of overfeeding

i tend to overfeed my snake sometimes
what about you?

no, I dont overfeed my snake. I feed him once a week. I have no clue what is causing it? Experts, please help. Thanks

I don't overfeed mine either...he's 36" and gets 2 crawlers a week
I still think it's a result of catching himself on something. He turned blue today so he should be shedding within the week. Hopefully the scales will be fine after he sheds

Oh I used to get that in my snakes. Raised scales and sunken in ones. I think that's from not enough humidity. Or hiding in stuff that sucks up alot of moisture (like paper towel rolls). I got rid of all the paper towel rolls in my cages and give the snakes a damp hide and all the raised scales went away.
