she's such a goregous girl. reminds me of my Kaleo except Kaleo is a Great Basin gopher instead of Sonoran and he's just a little guy and Selu is eating 2 pound rats!

Again very pretty girl....and i agree with what been said about gophers...everyone should have one or two.

I love mean pituophis...everyone should have a dozen.

I do *really* love these guys, it was my friends bull who got me interested (addicted?) to snakes in the first place. Of course, she suggested a corn for a good starter snake for me : 3

If anyone can recommend a pituophis that gets no larger than a corn, I might even consider getting one in a few years...
suggestions?

Well most Pits get about 6 feet. So if you are thinking a very super large corn on steroids, then you should be fine. :)

what's a good size tank for them though? The one my friend has is rather large, and I don't want to skimp on living space for them, but I'm also short of room.

I may just stick to my dream of a hognose, they don't get that big.
(But I do love the bigger snakes)

Wouldn't hoggies be easier to cartoon?

I have selu in a 48 x 24 x 11.5 size cage. But I feel that I could keep her in a 36 x 24 x 11.5 cage. I am planning on getting some cages this spring/summer for my gophers so i can keep them all together in the same room.

A few more updated photos of our Favorite Gopher Snake

I just fed her at the time and she was begging for more food.

Geesh, I want to move to MN where all the cool snake geeks live. Between you and Cam and the Guru, it's like snake heaven up there!

She's a beautiful girl with so much expression on her face! You've not posted pics in a few months. Have any new ones of her?
