sheding and feeding qustion

Dawwww... that's adorable. As long as the snakes are properly contained I wouldn't worry. Doggy's just curious, is all. Not like mine, which literally begs for them when I take them out and kills and eats any lizards she finds.

haha yea BUT this is a Golden Retriver...kind of in there blood to hunt...hmmm she was sleeping by the snake cage, dident even realise that there was something alive in there. then..the snake moves...and she freaks out!!!!! lol

Actually not in the blood to hunt.... but to bring things back to you. Their number one desire in life is to make you happy. Number two is to have something in their mouth. They are typically very good with other animals.

The regular lights in your room should be fine for viewing. Corns don't need anything extra and it makes it more difficult to monitor humidity and temp, too.

yea but i mean, i literly cant really see them with the lighting in the room. it looks brighter in the picures then what it actualy is. i was hopeing for some kind of flourecent that woudl just make the cages stand out. just to make it more enjoyable.

You're not gonna see them much normally anyways, they're snakes and they are nocturnal. If you want to see them, take them out and handle them.

I would suggest getting a normal lamp for that corner then and increasing the ambient light in your room.

Most standing floor lamps take up almost no space... I'm quite sure you could fit another on over near your tank.

my normal corn snake started shedding. its turnimg dull and the blak checker spots on the bottom are grey and dull. i have the lights off for a whiel, and the snakes prefer spending time on the cold side. i notice this with both of them. the tmep stays at about 80.but when i hold them, they seem cold to the touch...isnt this bad?

Corns will go where they need to go. It's possible that you're only seeing them on the cold side when you happen to check on them. If there's no problem with feeding, they should be okay.

Also, a snake will feel cold to the touch as we, humans, run at 98.6, so anything under that will feel cool or cold to our skin.
