My turn :)

I have a Florida, a Cali albino striped and a speckled king (hehe first in this thread, but why??? they are gorgeous IMO).

I am glad to see what F2 of speckled x cali looks like since I plan to cross mine too cause I really wanna breed a specimen like the one with the 'wide stripe with speckles in it '. I saw a picture of a perefect specimen on the net one day and really liked it, but then I did not think of breeding yet and did not save the pic :(

But for now, my kings:

Susan, do you consider Brooksi to be a phase of Florida king or still a different subspecies?

I really don't know as I've not done that much research into the matter. The breeder I purchased them from called them "Brooksi", but also had other clutches labeled as Florida kings (all under his general heading of Florida kings), so I would probably have say that they're a phase and not a different subspecies.

"The Brook's Kingsnake, sometimes called South Florida Kingsnake, used to be classified as its own subspecies, (Lampropeltis getula brooksi) and is often marketed as "Brooksi." That classification is now considered invalid, and Brook's Kingsnake is now considered to be just a pattern variation of the Florida Kingsnake."

You can find all kinds of references still to L getula brooksi, though.

Is there anything prettier than a normal Cali King? I don't think so!! I love the look in Yuri's eye, though, and Bazyli is _so_ pretty. I think we need a Baz photoshoot...

I can't choose at all which type of king I like best! This thread is excellent, such wonderful shiney snakies
