Snake names (good laugh)

Well I think the funniest name of any of my corns is Egg. Egg was one of my hatchlings and for some reason I liked his egg so I named him Egg because of that.

The other corns I have kinda have odd names. I have a Lelouch, Sora, Calcifer, and Batman(nick name doesn't have a real name yet).

Named mine after sitcom characters, with the intended pairings aligned with the character's marital relationships.

Alice - Anery Stripe poss het Amel
Ralph - Anery Motley het Amel
Trixie - Anery Motley het Amel
Ed - Anery Stripe poss het Amel (Alice's sibling)

Now, of course there may be a little 'forbidden love' down the road and I have a nice Butter corn (aptly named by my son, "Butter") male that might have a go with Alice if Ralph isn't ready.

Battle Worm 3000 is undeniably excellent, wow!

My snake names aren't hilarious, just sort of silly. The granite boy is named Boris "Doogie" Dragosani, and goes by "Boris." Boris Dragosani is a character from Brian Lumley's Necroscope book...the "Doogie" is in there because my friend's teenage son told me I had to name my first snake after him--HAD TO. We compromised. :)

My bloodred girl is named Hester in a lame attempt at cleverness due to her "scarlet" colour.

The granite girl is named Greer, because she just seemed like the quiet, dignified sort.

But I have to admit that now I am to name my next snake "Reptimat Designation 2046" or something like that, ha!

Okay, I have to say "Sir Bloop Bloop McLookey" is my favorite so far even though its not a snake. Funny and makes perfect sense!

My only funny named snake is Bogo my garter. Got her by surprise on a weekend I had attended a reptile show and brought home another snake. The one from the show turned out to be a non-feeder and died, Bogo my freebie from the wild is still going strong! LOVES the gilded cage life! Tons of personality and has yet to bite me.

Ooops! I think I jinxed it! And tonight is feeding night for the slithers!

Im planning on ordering a snake tomorrow so i dont have any funny names picked out yet but one of my brothers first snakes was named General CandyCornwallace. I always crack up whenever he talks about it.

Separately they don't sound really funny... but as a pair... Bloody and Hell fit the bill both due to color and temper :p

My first corn snake was named Nimue, but it has morphed into Nibbs. The snow corn is Balthazar after the Sorcerer's Apprentice. I call him Zar because Balthazar is just to much for my three year old to master. The ball python is Titus Sqeezimus. That one is a little silly.

From my own I have Nautley, because he's NOT a motley though he looks like one.

And my favorites of the names I've given mine.... What-The and Heck, both of which are late bloomer hypos, but ye gods they were strange looking when they were brand-newly hatched! I thought What-The was a ghost when I first saw him at the pet store, but once his head was free of the aspen, it had orange! All I could think was "what the heck is THIS?" So he and his brother got that as their names. :D

My pair of butters are name Butter and Popcorn ^-^
Copper often gets called Coppertone and Dream gets called Dream Boat all the time...

My spider ball python's name is Monster because it looks like he has teeth around his mouth, but it's just his pattern lol.

Most everyone else gets names out of the books i'm reading... Like one of my newest snakes is named Sita, who is a vampire in a book i'm reading because I was told she bites... Luckily i've have not been bitten but i've been very careful on feeding day!

My snake's name isn't weird, but her nicknames are!

Real name: Estelle
Nicknames: Snakey-Bear, Snake-Bear, Snakey-Angel, Baby Snakey, Little Bear-Bear.

I tend to baby-talk to her a lot, even though she can't hear me. So she also gets called a lot of incomprehensible nonsense!

Some of mine aren't very appropriate either but I can't leave you hanging. If you are offended let me know and I will edit. But here are my good ones IMO.

Ginny - spelled funny to throw you off. Say the "i" with the "i" sound and the "y" with the "e" sound. She is a hypo snow so she is very pink and she has a V on her head.

Grim - the Grim Reaper - skull marking on his head

Auger - Auger drill bit on his head

Boo- a ghost

Oh and my King Smitty - (we just changed one letter cause we have kids) she will musk you every time you pick her up even if she slithers up your hand.

Then everyone else is pretty generic.

I have Darque...who became Darque Idris because she loves watching Dr. Who (Idris is the given name for the Tardis)...but who is commonly called The Red One (she's our blood red). Her viv is set up beside Angel, who is frequently called The White One (our snow).

I personally find it fairly amusing that the Angel is beside the Tardis :) Sorry, letting my geek side get the better of me.

My corn snake has the most kitten-like demeanor I've ever seen... So naturally I name her after deadly toxic things. Arsenic, also known as Nic', slither butt or girly girl.

I figure when I get her a boyfriend I can call him Thallium, make them a matching set.

My snake names aren't funny, either, but I do have a funny nickname story. When we got Firefly, I fed her for the first time. A few days later, I had her out and she pooped on me. My first and (hopefully) only experience of that. I hadn't named her yet, because I wanted her name to really fit her. So, after the pooping experience, my husband said to me, "We should name her Dewdrop..." I thought, "Oh, how cute." And then he finished, "...cuz she do drop." Uuuuuggggghhhhhhh. :D

hi im new here and i want to know if aspen shavings or carpet is better?

Haha, this is a three year old thread that was dug up by someone posting in waaay wrong spot, and it has immediately come back to life! Awesome.

MPCornlover, if you haven't already, kindly redirect your query to the Husbandry and Basic Care forum.

As for silly names... I do have one big normal male name Don Juan, cause he likes the ladies. Not crazy or anything but I think it's cute.

We recently got our third snake-friend, a normal corn, and it was my son's turn to name our new buddy. Because he is a normal with all the variations of corns out there he decided on Bink from the Piers Anthony Xanth series. Bink was a character that although highly magical in nature appeared so common and mundane he was kicked out of Xanth for not being able to display his talent. Thus our new friend is Just Plain Ole Bink, or Bink for short. I'm certain he is magical under all those plain ole markings...
