my corn is about 23 inches and i recently started feeding him a larger size mouse. anyway after a feeding he always poo's that night and again a couple days later. well it is feeding day again and my snake has still not gone number two. is this anything to worry about? is it possible he is constipated? should i go ahead and feed him today and continue his normal schedule?
 
If itbecomesserous, you could always try giving him a abth, that will usually
make them go

The snake will go when it needs to. We get much too fixated on "schedules" and tend to worry about nothing. Feed and relax! :cool:

And no baths!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :rolleyes:
 
wait wait, why can't you bathe yoru snake? I just got done putting my normal in the tub today. well anyway, mine hasn't gone for 4 days, and tomorrow is feeding day again, like your situation, I'm feeding her anyway though.
 
JMHO, but bathing a reptile will cause stress and serves no purpose what-so-ever. North American colubrids are not aquatic by nature. Why force them to be something that they aren’t?

You snake will poop when it needs too. How would you feel if your mother would have made you take a laxative daily, whether you needed it or not? I have never had a snake that needed assistance with biological function!
 
Sorry, i'm with cav on this 1. Spraying with a bottle during shed is fine but to bath a corn snake, and regulary?

Some snakes go 3-4 times a week, while others will go maybe every 7-10 days, just like humans they all go differantly, so don't worry about it.
 
Some of you dont know what your talking about...there is no problem in giving your snake a "bath" if it wont crap...just leave it in warm water for about 20-30 minutes i dont really see a problem...and it works!
 
The "problem" is that it is completely unnecessary and stresses out your non-aquatic reptile.....but what do I know......

Oh wait you're 17, I forgot all the answers come naturally at that age. ;)
 
Dude there is a chance that its constipated and by putting it in a small container of warm water will more than likley help it...LETS SEE.....STRESS IT OUT OR HAVE IT DIE OF SOMETHING THAT CAN EASILY BE CURED...you tell me smart one.
 
CAV...I'm with you! Baths are VERY stressful for non-aquatic snakes!

silicon...continue to offer food on your snake's regular schedule. He'll poo when he needs to!

Have you ever seen a snake die of constipation genius?? Why don't ya go play with those vipers, I'm sure they would enjoy a good soak.

Ya i have actually...my science teachers corn died of it last year and he said he's had snakes die of it in the past...jus an fyi..AND SURE I'LL GET IN AN ARGUMENT WIT U bring it on bud
 
The only time I have ever seen any die due to impaction was when they were housed on sand or other inappropriate bedding.

Alright, I'm new to the forum..and new to corn snakes (just got my own a few weeks ago). But I have owned many reptiles before , and has been my experience that a reptile won't go regularly if the temps aren't warm enough. That's my only suggestion is to check the temps perhaps, make sure they are normal. And if they are, then listen to the people who aren't typing statements in caps to try to get their points across and are older and more wiser to the ways of the corn snakes and reptiles than I am :) . If they say bathing a snake will stress them out and serve no purpose, I would believe them.
 
cool, I'm no longer the only one on this forum that has - reputation points, YEA, just messin, but hey, if it helps, I will listen to CAV, because he does know alot, although I did put my snake in water today, I will not after reading what he's said.

I agree with this statment, especially the bit about other people having more experience.

I have had corn's for around 5 and half years and i'm still learning, and the advice from Cav and Quigs and Hurley and corncrazy and quite a few more people, is good solid advice, and i'm learning a lot. My point is please listen to what those people have to say as tey are spot on 99% of the time.

Thanks to those mentioned above and others for the thing's i've learnt from you :) .
