Some Of My Photos (Big Time DUW!!)

GREAT Pictures Justin! Love that rattler!

A question on the chicken feedings. Do your corns eat chickens as well as mouse and rat without any issues? We have never tried chicks but we have that option available here in Maine pretty readily. I can say my corns as well as boas, pythons, and other colibrids do eat mouse, rat, gerbil, and guinea pigs. So I guess chicks would be ok too. Just asking.

Again, you have some really nice photographs Justin!

PS
How is the cage fighting going?

Lol....I do have an MMA, Kickboxing and Boxing background and 12 years military time.

You know, I did really well when I was younger like 21-22 or so in the fighting world but then I did an 8 yr retirement mostly because of some divorce issues and such. After 8 yrs I finnally got my fat butt back in shape and started seriously training again. I did 3 MMA cage fights after coming out of retirement and I got my butt handed to me in a pretty bad way all 3 times! One of them was a pretty bad knockout where the medical personel at the event got involved...I tapped out due to a shoulder crank in another...and the ref stopped the fight in the third after I took over 35 straight punches to the face while being mounted. I decided to leave that to the younger guys...those guys are HUNGRY!!! They are like I was at that age. I figured that I'd better just concentrate on the herps, I was getting to the point where it was becoming really difficult to train to fight and manage an ever growing reptile collection at the same time.

Although I am glad that I did come out of retirement for a bit because it got my butt back in the gym and really helped out with some self esteem issues I was having at the time. i might have gotten whiped in every bout since coming back into that game but you know what....at each event there was about 1,600 people in the crowd who DIDN'T even get in the cage. So I can't feel too bad. My life anymore is all about my son and my herps.

It was kind of cool though, because I got to meet and hang out with some of the UFC personalities. I remember that I got done with a fight once and went back to the locker room and Lavern Clark from the UFC was in there and it was just me and him and no one else. I never got his autograph ad I never got a photo but it was really cool just to hang out and talk one on one with someone who had risen to that level. We talked about my fight and what went wrong and a lot of other things. Getting to meet Robby Lawler and Matt Hughes was a trip too...all good people. There was also a really good guy that was coming up fast in the local arenas by the name of Ryan Thomas. I talked with him at a few events and afterwards we exchanged several emails and I came to think pretty highly of the man. He made it all of the way to the UFC but once he got there he had some really bad luck and two fights that didn't turn out well for him at all. It was heartbreaking because he was such a good guy and I was really pulling for him to make it at that level of competition. I haven't heard from him since those UFC fights and I don't know what he's doing now but I hope he's doing well.

About the chicken feeding...Corns love them!! Quail work really well too!! And they'll go right back to feeding on rodents. Their poop is a bit runnier after eating birds than it is with rodents but it is not too bad. I just like to mix up the diets a bit.

The only problem I ever had was with feeding chikens sometimes the Corn would poop out one or even both undigested chicken feet. This never seemed to cause any problems for the snake so I really don't see it as an issue...but folks looking into feeding chickens to their Corns should be aware.

I have never seen undigested quail feet though. I don't know what the difference is between a chicken foot and a quail foot but sometimes the chicken feet just don't get digested and pass through.

I have also fed chickens to my Dumeril's Boas with success, but i mainly stick to rats with those. Especially as they continue to grow.

I've heard boas go coo coo over chicken, like even if you eat it and smell like it you can risk getting bitten. I know my BRB munched my dad after he had eaten chicken one night.

I know that Dumeril's like them! I really haven't tried feeding them to my one Columbian pet yet.

Very nice shots

Hey thanks man! I'm glad that you like them.

I really should have signed up here a long time ago. This is just a really cool forum! There is a definite level of community here that is lacking on a lot of the other forums I am on. I really kind of like it here and I'm really looking forward to being a regular for a long time.

The Mexican night snakes are really attractive. Hmm, something new for me down the road. How difficult are they to care for?

They are really easy to care for. Care is pretty much the same as with a Corn. The Mex Nights are just awesome snakes to work with.

Will do!

Also if you happen to stumble across anyone with any of the Anery Mex Nights could you shoot me a PM? I'd really like to expand some on these guys.

Sure, I put the word out with my wholesale distributors as well so if any are in Cali I'll know and let you know.
