Kastanie (Het Amel) X Mahogany (Het Amel)

So it appears Mahogany is another one of those late developer genes that's floating around related to Kastanie.

I don't know much about mahogany...do they look much different from Kastanies? Either they are identical and locality or something makes them look a little different from each other, or they are alleles, but future breedings can determine the difference. Same with sunrise. Pretty cool though!

They actually are the spitting image of Kastanies. And I believe some of the people breeding Mahoganies are getting confused with their offspring. Some of the babies from a Mahogany X Classic (or any other mutation) kind of look similar and I think they are mistakenly calling them Mahoganies thinking they have a Dominant gene (heard this from one breeder). Which is why last year when I did the "Christmas Hypo Mahogany" X Kastanie I got all normal babies, and Anery which both parents were Het for. Orlando also got some that they told him were Mahogany but I now believe are just Normals (PH Mahogany)?
 
If you don't have Mandarins in your collection I actually feel bad for you.
