It's Jager time!
*Hangs head in shame*

Uck whatever I'm not ashamed! I have loved mojos since I first saw them, and then when folks realised they made white blue eyed snakes, well that was me convinced I MUST have one at some point. I have waited 7 years to delve into the mojo/BEL dream. And since I can't realistically afford a BEL at the moment, well this is the next best thing. I was holding out for something special, and this wee guy came up. Super reduced pattern, wonderful colouration etc. Unusual wee dude. He is very inquisitive and seems quite plucky. I love him already!

Best thing about royals ever is their wee duck face! A royal is a royal is a royal, but it's the duck face that clinches it for me and I find them rather endearing despite the obsession and madness surrounding this species. Meet Mojo Jojo.

I think most royals are varying shades of brown or yellow. It's all a bit silly really. But I just love Mojo's desite being very similar to normals :) He's a sweet wee fella, I'm very happy.

I just don't like the bodyshape of royals, personally, but mojave is my favourite kind of pattern/colouring in them.

I really love squishy sausage shapes and heavy bodied stout snakes :) But I love the slender snakes as well! Uck I love them all. I have a thing for head shapes more than body shapes though. I like well defined python and boa heads. I like to see well defined necks as well. Poor Noir is the only snake I own that does not have a neck, heck his head is so small he can't even manage anything larger than a chick despite being 1.5kg and nearly 6ft....

That is a great looking one I love the reduced pattern on him, I wish my female had that! Are you planning on trying to produce a BEL with him?

great contrast, now you can make mystic potions, crystals, and lots more new things like mojo soul suckers and leopard mojos--new this year
I wish I had his dark reduced pattern on all my girls
WEllcome to the DARKSIDE, get your laser pointer ready to defend yourself

Oh I know he has huge potential. I'm still mostly only interested in BELS though, and I love the super mojos with the wee purple heads :)

Nice looking snake.

I've never been interested in ball pythons because they are boring and most people who get into them do so because they think they're going to make easy money by breeding them and selling the offspring.

Lol I've always lost money breeding snakes.

I think if u like a species then you should keep it for you and not for other people . I wouldnt avoid keeping them due to the stigma attatched to the species. Some people are idiots... Completely obsessive over royals and their morphs. I just like the shape of their heads when it comes down to it lol!

Pain in the ass non feeding snakes...got no use for them...but...they are a snake...so ..well, they have redeeming qualities. Not sure what they are in balls, but...

I think royals have a horrible stigma attached to them. I rather like them. They fast for periods thoughout the year, that is what they do. It doesn't mean they are non feeders. Some of my candoia are similar in feeding pattern to royals.

Remember the time everyone thought chondros were vicious nasty creatures made of china and ONLY the most expertise keepers may keep them alive? :laugh01:

I don't like the term ball python, I'm glad they are universally royal pythons over here :) I like Mojo Jojo. I can't say I like the craze, obsession and madness that surrounds the morph industry though.

NO, they can be complete non feeders. Took one from the vet here that never ate until it died. Tried live, f/t, asfr, was going to try gerbil scented. The biggest complaint about balls is their lack of feeding and their failure to take f/t prey. I just don't have time for snakes like that. Don't have a problem with a period of fasting. I have snakes like my copperhead and my false water cobras that go off food for 3-5 months. But the balls go off for 8 months sometimes, sometimes they will die rather than eat. That's just...well crazy...and the breeders don't seem to be working to change that. They continue to produce non feeding animals. I'd love to find one breeder that can show his babies have fed on f/t from day one and never refused or rarely refused. I'd imagine you'd have a hard time.

Any snake has the ability to starve it's self to death.

I think royals are kept and fed entirely differently in the states than they are here. Typically in the UK we don't feed live food, whereas in the states I know *most* royal breeders and keepers find it easier to feed and raise on live. I don't know many breeders who feed live to their royals over here, other than folks that have foolishly imported snakes from the likes of Bob Clark KNOWING they were raised and fed on live food. I think it's very difficult to get a snake switched to defrost that has been conditioned and raised on live food. I have never had to feed a live prey item to a royal before, and I kept for them a while a good few years back.

Here, it is out of the ordinary for a royal to feed on nothing but live. You would be hard pressed to find a breeder that raised his/her hatchlings on live and live only.
