Successful shed and divided aquarium question

First of all: Kaven just had his second shed! I did as suggested, and offered him a damp hide of sphagnum moss when I noticed him going blue. I never SAW him use it, but his shed came out beautifully, so whatever he did this time worked! His color is actually going a little pink, particularly on the scales around his head and face. He looks beautiful!

Secondly: someone's put the bug in my ear about the possibility of dividing one large aquarium to house two animals. I admit that even after only having him for three months or so, I'm already addicted and wanting another corn. Space is the factor at the moment, and I don't have room for another tank. But Kaven's a small guy, still, and the tank I got is 20gal (rather too large for him, I know, but he's got four hides, two vines, and fake leaves on both ends, so he's got plenty of places to hide, and he's never seemed overly stressed about it).

A divided viv would be a temporary solution, until he and the other snake got large enough to need their own; then I would simply buy another 20 gal (and by then I'll be living somewhere there'll be room).

Thoughts? Success stories? Dire warnings? Kaven's health and safety is my top priority here, so if there's too much risk with something like this, I'll restrain myself, and wait until I have room for another viv. But if this is feasible...I may seriously consider it.

Thanks in advance for any advice!

I've split an aquarium pretty easily. I just custom cut a piece of cardboard (you don't want them to be able to see each other, can stress them out) and used silicone to seal it to the aquarium. Make sure the cardboard goes above that lip at the top of the cage, as hatchlings can fit in that gap. Here is a picture (not a great one) of how I had my 20L set up for two. I don't have better pics as I no longer have that set-up (I ended up getting more snakes, lol).

Others have also done this using acrylic, but it is clear so you have to tape paper or something to one of the sides.
