tap or bottled water?

I agree with Simon both on the soft water issue and the misting for humidity! Some people think soft water has lots of salt in it, but it really has very little. And misting daily has worked very well for my humidity level. :)

hi

hi
ok what is soft and hard water ?

and also what I think about this whole tap/bottle water is
that I think the simplest plainest H2O will be the best
you can always give your snakes something extra if they need it
I don't know forsure but that would make sense to me

just wanted to say what I think :)

hard and soft water usually comes from wells. But it comes out mostly hard. There are water sofeners which make the water littrily softer (doesnt wash soap off for sh**) Hard water still has all teh natural minerals and other elements found in the ground (if not filtered) If not filtered I think natural hard well water would be fine for a reptile. But yes there would be build up of certain metals and minerals. But you have to admit that that is the healthist of waters. Tast like crud though.

just so y'all know

Boiling your water would only kill parasites or any type of bacteria that is living in it hence those people on survivor always had to boil their water so they didn't get disentary (sp?) it doesn't take out any metals or stuff like that, you'd have to evaporate it and collect the vapor to reliquify which is how you get distilled water....

y'all probably already know that, but I like to hear myself talk sometimes..

We use bottled spring water for all our reptiles (beardies, leopard geckos viper geckos, corns, iguanas).

Only things here that gets tap is the humans, lol.
